Defective Flooring
this was poor quality to begin with - you could have saved thousands by just buying the cheapest crap at HomeDepot; then of course it would do the same thing
consider buying solid hardwood flooring - not laminate; which is garbage
or put in slate tile
with the lack of proper humidity in LV even solid hardwood would have a tough time

Defective Flooring
You are mistaken. The materials that I purchases actually cost MORE than the products recommended by two installers that offered bids. Further, the product that I purchased is NOT laminate, but engineered hardwoord flooring which is promoted as having superior resistance to water and environomental stresses than either laminate or sold hardwood. You are correct that the BuildDirect product was poor quality, but it was not low cost.
I have spoken to many hardwood flooring companies in Las Vegas. It certainly is possible to install hardwood flooring in Vegas.

BuildDirect Warrantees are a SCAM
Please be aware that BUILD DIRECT FLOORING WARRANTEES ARE A SCAM
PLEASE do not believe me and check for yourself what I am stating is true!
BuildDirect wood flooring products warrantees have humidity requirements that must be maintained AT ALL TIMES. If you check the warranty requirements you will find that BuildDirect requires that you maintain your home at between 35-55% humidity at all times. The problem with this is virtually all cities in the U.S. that will fall outside of these requirements. Do not believe me, please google city humidity levels. Look at a site like Cityratings. Check the humidity range in your city both in the AM and PM. I am very confident that you will find that your city has humidity ranges that fall outside the required levels. What this means is if you have a problem with your flooring, BuildDirect will send an inspector to your home, and if he measures a reading even a small amount above 55% or a small amount below 35% Build Direct will VOID your warranty. This is clearly a scam when it is essentially impossible to maintain the required humidity levels at all times in any city in the United States. This humidity requirement simply supplies BuildDirect with an excuse to void their warranty and based on the facts I have stated, could be used on virtually every order of wood flooring that they sell.
