HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

BOOKED A HOTEL, THINKING IT WAS DIRECTLY WITH THE OMNI - WHEN THE RESERVATION CAME THROUGH IT WAS WITH THIS COMPANY - I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THEM AND GOT THROUGH TO A CALL CENTER IN EL SALVADORE - THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN MY FIRST CLUE - GETTING THE FULL REFUND HAS BEEN A CHORE AS THE REPS SIMPLY REPEAT FROM A SHEET "I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND' 'I WILL ESCALATE' ' THERE IS NOTHING MORE I CAN DO' 'THERE IS NOT A SUPERVISOR AVAILABLE'. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE FULL REFUND AND NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME ITS GOING TO BE ANOTHER 10 DAYS (MAKING IT OVER A MONTH) BEFORE MY REFUND CAN BE PROCESSED IN FULL - FUNNY HOW THEY CAN BILL ME IMMEDIATELY BUT A REFUND TAKES A MONTH - AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS

Do Not Trust Them!!

They disguise as the hotel website that you are looking for and charges you extra booking fees! WAY more expensive than booking through the hotel website and Expedia.

extra charges

I thought I was booking with choice hotels, it looks like it on the web. They sent me a confirmation with a total of $95.00 including a $5.00 charge for all service fees. When I got my credit card bill it was for $108.14. I called and they did give me a refund, but if this is their normal policy, they a fleecing the public.

scams on top of scams

Found only one booking website for Cedar Lodge, El Portal, CA: cedarlodge.reservations.com. (In reality, the hotel uses www.yosemiteresorts.com). Nowhere on cedarlodge.reservations.com are any terms and conditions other than those of the hotel listed. Was never sent any reservation confirmation and had to call the hotel to see if I had one. Later had to cancel and hotel informed me that they thought Expedia had made the booking. Took me a while to find out that reservations.com had made the booking. They had deducted the hotel's $7.50 cancellation fee--which I knew of but had also charged and retained a $14.99 booking fee without ever providing access to information about it. I called reservations.com and was told they would refund and would immediate send confirmation of that. Instead they finally send the reservation confirmation! It made no mention of any booking fee. Two days later, I received an e-mail stating that they were keeping the booking fee as I had agreed to it when I booked--though the website I booked through contains no mention of the fee. The fact that reservations.com is one of at least four names the company uses makes it especially slippery to deal with.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

Fees are HUGE!! When I cancelled I was informed that they had already charged my credit card IN FULL for the 4 night hotel stay. Then when I cancelled, because it was the day of check in, I was also charged by the hotel for one night's stay plus taxes and fees!! AAANNNNDDD they tell me the hold on my account could take 14 to 30 days!!!!!! DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! I never will again.

Not going to take it anymore

Never use this company ever

Reservations.com attaches their phone number to hotel web sites as a contact number to call and does not identify itself when you call to make a reservation. They will not refund your money no matter what. They are ruthless heartless creatures who have the customer service of a dentist drilling a nerve without anesthesia. They reduced me to anger and being unkind, which is extraordinarily rare for me. I hope to God they get what they deserve ,being put out of business.

Scam Alert

We unknowingly booked a room through them in Jan 2018 that we would need the following May. We found out they never paid the hotel when the hotel called a few days before our trip to tell us we need to pay for the room to hold it. When we try to talk to reservations.com to get a refund they keep hanging up on us. Scammed us out of $425.

Scammers, dishonest, fraud

To whom it may concern
I am writing to express my extreme displeasure for reservations.com
My friend Alana called me to let me know that she spoke with an individual about booking a one night stay at Comfort Inn hotel, my friend was quoted $111.00 an evening. My plan was to book three hotel rooms, as we have a fairly large party. The individual called me from Reservations.com so I was able to book all three rooms on my credit card. When speaking with this individual he misquoted me several times, I was put on hold many times and he had no idea what he was talking about when I asked him questions about the hotel. The first phone call was seventeen minutes and he only booked two rooms. During the first phone call I I asked if the room was $111.00 dollars, he stated that was the American price, I asked for the Canadian price. The individual stated $130 for room one, $130 for the second room and $145 for the third room. I wrote these prices down and messaged my friends to let them know the prices. During the next fifteen minutes, I kept asking what was taking so long, as I have never experienced such a long conversation just to book hotel rooms. I didn't even have any special requests.
I told the individual to call me back, as I was put on hold yet again because he was trying to get a confirmation number for the third room.
When the individual called me back(3rd time), he provided me with three confirmation numbers and while on the phone my bank (TD BANK) called me because my card seemed to have suspicious activity. I asked the individual how much in total my three rooms would be, he stated 361 dollars Canadian. I asked him yet again, why the price changed? He said that he had not included taxes, I asked him "how is there an additional 50 dollars PER ROOM worth of taxes?" he did not provide me with an answer but stated that the third room was saved but not paid for, as my credit card was not going through. I know for a fact that there is money on my card but fine, lets leave it alone. I asked to speak with the supervisor, as It at this point it was over an hour trying to book rooms and get confirmation numbers, not to mention that the prices changed multiple times.

When I spoke with the supervisor , all she said was sorry and that she would listen to the phone calls.
After I got off the phone, I called TD Bank back and they explained that my card was used multiple times and that is why they called me. My bank also confirmed that I was charged 423 Canadian Dollars, not the 361 that I was quoted. At this point, I am not enraged. I was given the wrong information several times and reserations.com completely scammed me out of money. I have never been treated so poorly by a company. This is not acceptable at all! I want the phone calls reviewed immediately.

I called reservations.com to inform them of the charges and they said "just wait 5-7 business days and it will be off your card", oh wow thanks for acknowledging my time, and my inconvenience. The best of the conversation is when the supervisor asked for the confirmation numbers and she could only find two. Sooooo he didn't even complete my booking properly. Not once was I offered any support with these issues and I feel that I was scammed on many levels.
I called back to cancel the bookings as this was a complete nightmare. In total I was on the phone for over 2 and a half hours. How is this okay? Why was i mistreated? How come there is no accountability?
is this how the company is run because if it is, I look forward to expressing myself to several avenues. I would love answers to these questions. Attached is my bank records, showing how the multiple charges and refunds that happened. I see why my bank called me, as it does look very suspicious.
i hope to hear from someone.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I booked a hotel room in Windsor ON, for the evening o f28 August 2018. Rate quoted was $65 USD. I completed the form, and before I got a confirmation, I was informed that more information was needed. Before I could enter that information, the system processed my booking. When I checked the confirmation email I spotted a “service fee” of $14.99 (hard to justify that seeing as I did all the work AND it wasn’t displayed prominently anywhere on the booking page).

I contacted Customer service in the Philippines and spoke to “Lory”. She basically informed me that I was stuck with the fees whether I liked it or not. When I explained that nowhere on the booking page did it show that fee and that it only became evident after I received a confirmation, she again said, too bad, nothing she can do about it. By this time I had had enough.I told the agent to cancel my booking as I want nothing to do with this company. She told me that it would take 10 days to refund my money after she cancelled the booking, but I would still have to pay the $14.99. Didn't care about the money at this point. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told there was no point, that I would only get the same story. I said I still wanted to speak to the supervisor – and was told they weren’t available, that they were all on phones, etc. I said I would wait - she again said they’re ALL busy, but they would call me . I gave my work number and haven’t heard anything – nor will I, I suspect. I told the agent to cancel my booking as I want nothing to do with this company. She told me that it would take 10 days to refund my money after she cancelled the booking, but I would still have to pay the $14.99. I never received a cancellation e-mail. When I checked the site, the reservation was still active – she never cancelled it, I ended up doing it myself. I just checked my bank and see this outfit has charged me yet another $14.99 – for what I have no idea. I’ve done all the work on this booking – yet keep getting charged phantom service fees.

Another shining example of this company gouging unsuspecting customers and then poor customer service to back it up.

Do yourself a favour - book through any other company but this one. Practically all have no "service fees".

Fraudulent and deceptive

I want to warn you about a fraudulent company. Be sure that when you call your hotel to make a reservation that you call the hotel directly. I thought I had called mine directly and when I questioned if I was speaking to the hotel directly when he could not honor my military discount as many times before, the representative for Reservations.com blatantly lied and said he was a clerk at the Econo lodge. Their customer service dept. refused to cancel my reservation based on their lie. It is ok, i have my reservation and my plans with my mom and sister at no extra cost to me. But it will cost this fraudulent company alot more by the time I am done warning my colleagues, friends and familiy to watch out for them and posting it on every media sight and trip advisor available.

read fine print

I will never use Reservations.com again. I had to cancel a trip due to hurricane Florence. The 1st agent I talked to said no problem with cancelling. After after 6 weeks of numerous phone calls and emails, I was told the reservation was non-refundable. But not by reservations.com. The last email from them on Oct.9 said I would be contacted in 7 to 10 days. On October 30th I called since they never contacted me. They simply said the refund was denied. So much for customer service. I will never use Reservations.com again.

I called the Econolodge in Pleasant Mountain, North Carolina and was told too bad. Hurricane or not the reservation was not refundable. I suppose they expected me to show up regardless of the hurricane. Econolodge has seen the last of me.

Never use a third party. They just muddy the water.

Not a Honest Business

Beware! This place charges you $14.99 immediately for their service and a charge for room/taxes which isn't even close to being the best price. And there's no way to fix it once you've been charged. Their response, "we did the best we could on the day you made the reservations...sorry if the hotel had a $40 lower price..." Does Florida have any honest businesses? This is the second rip-off I've had in less than a year working with a Florida company. The last one however amounted to a $4000 ripoff, not $55. And this time I'm not going to bother writing the FL AG, FTC, etc.; it was a waste of time last fall and I'm sure it will be a waste of time now.

Use Bookings.com instead if you do not want to be scammed!

Buyer beware! USE BOOKINGS.COM INSTEAD of reservations.com!! I booked the same Holiday Inn Resort for the same week on both Bookings.com and Reservations.com. Both said no cancellation fee if cancel before a certain date. I needed to cancel the rooms over a month before our reservation date, weeks before the cancellation deadline. It was super simple on bookings.com. I simply went to their website, entered my reservation #, and hit "cancel", done! I immediately received a confirmation email that I would be receiving a full refund and there was no cancellation fee. I then we to their website, could not find a way to cancel, so used their "chat" option. The chat person said they could not help. so I had to call. I called and the rep said their was a 1 night cancellation fee of $400 even though the cancellation policy on their site said otherwise. I went back and forth with her, then asked to drop the reservation down to just the 1 night and cancel the other days to avoid the cancellation fee. She said she could not modify the reservation, only cancel it and charge me the fee. Ridiculous! I asked to speak to a supervisor. The queue for talking to a supervisor was so long she had to take my phone # and said they would call me within 24hrs. It has been over 24hrs. and still no call. I even tried calling the resort to modify my reservation, but they said they could not do anything because I booked through reservations.com. I hope this review helps others not lose $400 on a cancellation fee like I did for such shady practices. USE BOOKINGS.COM INSTEAD! I got better pricing from them and had a much easier cancellation experience with a full refund.

skirts legality

This site duplicates legitimate hotel sites and most search engines give it a prominent place. It does not tell you up front that substantial subsidiary charges will be added to the figures they post for room rates. It also does not tell you until after you have made the reservation that it cannot be canceled. Customer service will just tell you there is nothing they can do and you should have been more careful. Will be alerting my credit card company and the hotel chain; they are dealing with an unethical partner.

Never use reservations.com

Reservations.com charges fees without telling you. Support is terrible and borders on deceptive. Absolutely avoid reservations.com.
