Alcon Negative Experience

I also had the same experience as many of you. I was promised a rebate but was denied due to them stating they could not see my name printed on one of my documents, although that was never listed on the instructions. The rest of the information was the same so they obviously knew it was me that purchased the contacts. They said the grace period ended and I was unable to submit another document. I've called and emailed this company but they have been no help. Is anyone else up for signing a petition? I don't understand how a company can get away with such unprofessional and criminal behavior.

ALCON

Unfortunately I also have been scammed by alcon! Wish I had seen this site before I purchased the Dailes Aqua Comfort Plus! Was promised a $200.00 rebate and waited and waited for it, finally emailed in to find out where it was and they said Congrratulations, you get a $120 rebate ($80 they cheated me out of!) When I called to complain, they said that I had pushed the wrong button on the computer and told them that I had used these contacts before and therefore it was my fault! I hadn't ever used these before and would never have said that I used them (I've done rebates before and know that all paperwork must be in order)! I believe it was their fault and that is how they get out of paying the promised rebate! They have no copy to prove it to me and I know they have cheated me and I have no recourse! They will not help me! They do not care about their customers! Only the bottom line, making a buck or $80!
And the worst part is the lenses are not comfortable at all! Oh, and I have a years supply! I am going to have to dump them and get another brand!
Don't fall for this scam!

Rebate Scan-Don't be Fooled

Wish I had read this site before buying Alcon Contact lenses. Clearly there is a long standing problem with the company delivery on the rebates they promote. Denied a rebate for being slightly late and not strictly within in the small print of 60 days. I will use another company for my contacts and recommend others do the same.

Alcon scam

I bought several boxes of ACON contact lenses from the eye doctor who said I would get $100 in rebates. After hours of gathering up receipts and scanning bar codes I and online submissions I never heard anything back. 3 months later I called them and they said it was declined because I had sent in the bar code of the box that the lenses came in rather than the individual boxes themselves. What??? There was no indication that I was supposed to scan 8 individual bar codes rather than the one box they all came in. What a SCAM!! I will never buy from ALCON again!!

Al-CON SCAM

I have the same story -- they claim my submission was invalid with no explanation, delays, ran out the clock until rebate period was closed. I'm a person of action, not words. I'm trying to find out who regulates rebate promotions. I'd like to see everyone on this site contact the regulatory agency. It has worked for me for bank scams. Does anyone know the regulatory agency that regulates this process?

deceptive and unprofessional

I was told by Alcon representative that www.contactlens.com participates in a rebate program. After ordering my contact lenses from contact lens.com Alcon states that in fact merchant does not participate and the rebate will not be approved. Further, they report that there is no record of my call. I speak to the manager who promises to research my issue and call me back but never does. Some companies are strange, losing customer over $25 rebate. Next year I will switch to contact lenses made by a different company. I do not like supporting businesses that don't deserve it.

Another Alcon scam!

I purchased the Alcon contacts to use a rebate. Rebate card arrived after 3 long months of waiting and phone calls. Used fine when balance was $200. When getting down to the last $22, if I tried to use it for $25 hoping to just pay the balance, it was declined. Kept putting it aside until having more time to figure out issue and it expired! Called Visa and was told I would need to first have it run with balance of card and THEN pay balance in another form of payment. Ok? Tried to have it reactivated for the remainder as a courtesy, with no luck. I just got lectured on all the places that the expiration dates were listed. My mistake, but Alcon lost my business.

Rebate "WHAT"

FAKE,FALSE ADVERTISING,
I am another one taken in by this company with all this crap.
I submitted ALL DOCUMENTATION CLEARLY AND LEGIBALLY. First of all I had to call several
times b/c their website won't work. After getting someone to answer the phone he gave me the run around. ( NOT COOL )
A couple of weeks later, I received an email being DENIED!!!!!
All paperwork submitted in a timely manner. Denied. I was SUPPOSED TO RECEIVE A $100.00 visa rebate card.
DONT BUY ANY OF THEIR PRODUCTS
DONT BELIEVE ANY OF THEIR FALSE ADVERTISEMENT
NO MATTER WHAT, DONT FALL FOR THEIR BUL-CRAP

A word to the wise

We successfully submitted the documentation for my wife's contact lenses, and received an email with the code for the electronic rebate about three weeks later...which we then subsequently forgot about. I finally thought about it this past weekend and asked her to find the email, and the link had expired. There was nothing in the body of the email about the rebate's expiration date.

She tried calling the 800 number for two days and got a busy signal each time (how does that still happen?) but then got through today; she explained the situation, and the customer service rep extended the expiration date for us and sent a new email.

Based on all the posts above, ours is a rare success story, but if you happen to be reading this and have received a rebate, I'd strongly recommend either using it immediately or transferring the funds into Amazon or a similar website. I didn't want to run the risk of requesting a physical card and having to wait longer, and perhaps never receive it. It was our fault for forgetting about the rebate, and we're fortunate that we were able to rectify the situation.

there is no rebate

There is no rebate, they just lie to get u to buy their contacts! I submitted all of the right documentation within the required time. I got a email saying mine to illegible, I called to find out why and was told I bought from the wrong internet contact company. I asked how was I suppose to know that and they said to check their approved sellers on the their webpage! Guess what? no where is there a list of approve or illegible sellers!! It's a waste o time to fall for this scam because they never intended to give u a rebate!!

Not a scam just no customer service

I usually do not write reviews, but I am very disappointed with Alcon. I have purchased contacts in the past with Alcon and submitted my rebate with no issue. I received my Visa gift card the past 2 times. However, this time I submitted my rebate and received an email stating that my rebate was declined because my receipt was blurry. I didn't realize the decline before it was too late. They won't make an exception and let me resubmit.

I know it is not the staff at customer service as they are just following process, but it is very disappointing and disheartening that they won't make an exception for their loyal customers. I have been using Alcon contacts for over 10 years and have spent thousands of dollars and they can't budge one time to give me my rebate.

I missed the email with the issue and to be honest forgot about my rebate submission. This has been a crazy year (just had a baby and started a new job) and it slipped my mind to check on the status. In addition, I get thousands of emails a day and it totally slipped by me. I just would like a 2nd chance to resubmit my claim and get the opportunity to get my rebate. I know it was my error, but I would expect better customer service for being a loyal customer. I am 60 days past my decline date.

I feel cheated so I don't plan to purchase a yearly supply next time.

Keep Calling

Over the years I have experienced all of the problems and complaints listed here by others. The secret to getting past this SCAM is to call them. Make sure your online submission is correct and complete then call and call and call. Be nice but persistent. Keep calling. The customer service reps have the ability to process the rebate and move the rebate through the system more quickly. 1-855-344-6871. Don't give up. It works!!

THe SCAM Continues

The glasses and contacts chain that sold these contacts to me completely sold me on HOW EASY it is to get a rebate. He must have said it 10 times, so I bought a year's worth of contacts.
I submitted all the information and, naturally, was declined because supposedly they did not receive a receipt.
I have a photo of the receipt on the website -- you can enlarge the documents submitted.
It doesn't matter to these scammers.
They use reputable stores to sell bulk supplies based on false promises of "free money."
At the very least, anyone who has been scammed should complain to the retailer who sold the product to you.
You should also post on social media of every kind, including YELP,. Post complaints on the retailers site. They probably were not involved, but they will let ALCON know; I suspect those are the only calls ALCON takes seriously.

Alcon Rebate

I won't recommend this company due to customer service. I received a rebate $50. I chose a virtual visa card which was a disaster. If you get one, get a physical card NOT VIRTUAL VISA CARD.

The problem I had was that I used it in one transaction and the balance has left. The problem is that it is hard to make a purchase to have the exact same amount of your balance of XX amount of $ and cents. For online transactions, it was impossible to use all remaining balance, because if your purchase is over the remaining balance, you can't use 2 different cards to split the payment thru online transactions. When I went to the physical stores in major retail stores, they rejected virtual visa card and told me that I need to bring a physical card.

So I contacted customer service asked if I could get a physical card or a check for the remaining balance. I explained that I have a hard time using this remaining balance at physical locations and even online transactions.

The customer lady at Alcon said that they can't help at all. This is what the customer rep at Alcon said

"YOU WILL HAVE TO FIND A MERCHANT WHO WILL TAKE THE PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE."

It is such shameful customer service and solution to their customers.
