America's Thrift Store must be avoided
I am really shocked! Their customer service is extremely poor. They are just rude there, both cashier and the manager were extremely rude to me. The problem was that the glasswork I was buying got a bit broken at the cashier's and they wanted to make me pay for it. Beware of this shop:

cashier accusing custumer of cahnging pirice tags
I shop at the thrift store all the times and I have never been treated the way I was treated on April 21 2014 in the Pell city Thrift store. I walked over to the shoe department an picked up a pair of shoes that were marked .99 cents when I took them to check out counter and the shoes were taken to the back and repriced I was told that the price habd been changed and I was accused of changing the price . I was embarrassed in front of other that were in the store. Then I still bought what I wanted but the shoes and she didn't even put my stuff in a bag I had to ask for a bag to put the stiff in I bought. I will never shop or donate anything else again to your pell city Thrift store. the people in that store are rude and think the worst of you customers who pay the salalries. The caahier name Nancy

I WAS an employee.
Where do I even start. This has to be the worst place on the entire face of the earth to work. I worked there, (the first time) on January 25, 2015.I worked there till March 6, 2015, When i was fired because, Melinda Winbourne, the manager at the time, Entered my married last name in on the computer instead of my maiden name, which i told her to enter instead till i got everything switched over, so she told me that corporate told her that she had to fire me because i didnt change it and i was apparently working under a flase name even though my license and my social matched. Go figure. I was hired back March 25, 2015 after my many many attempts of called corporate and noone would even return my calls. Even after leaving voice mails. So in return to noone answering my husband told them that it was going to be a lawsuit because the reason that they fired me was illegal. Social Security office told me that themselves. So Melinda called me the very next day and asked me if i wanted my job back. I took it back and was brought back to night shift where i was brought back as a front end person. I worked that for a while till i got tired of never having a weekend off. They dont give you weekends off there. So if you have a family, you mid as well forget ever seeing them because it will never happen. So i asked to be put on production, where i was a grader. Yeah, it was perfect till the girl named Danielle told everyone there, before i even got back there that i was snobby and a bunch of other stuff. So from June 6, till December 17 i was pretty much bullied. I would get told on for stuff that wasnt even true about me. Literally none of it was ever true. So finally one day, a bunch of her and her friends wrote a bunch of complaints about me and gave them to the very lousy manager, Andre Fulgham, former alabama player, and he told me that the only thing that he had left to do was fire me. Now mind you, there are no camras in the back of the store where everything is processed. So all these mean people wrote stuff about me such as (I apparently hit a girl with a hanger) ( I was mean) (I was rude). I never talked to anyone. After a couple of the times that i got told on, I stopped talking. The manager of that store cusses. but if you cuss he wants to write you up. The CTQ steals dildos. The insurance there is way to expensive and they wont let you cut it off. Even if you arent getting the hours. They dont even pay the bills on time. One time the water got cut off and they would let us leave to go use the bathroom. Oh and one time, they didnt pay the power bill, so we had to go and sit on the used furniture and wait for them to turn the power back on. If you want 50% off items, you better kiss that goodbye because we are required to take all the 50% marked items off the floor the day it goes 50% off. They all have favorites, so if you dont suck up to the managers, then they treat you like crap. I seriously advise noone to work here. Not because im mad and hate this place, but because its not worth anyones time. at all.

I got ripped off
I got double charged for a pair of flip flops and i called and the manager told me to bring my receit and i would get a refund. I go in today and they are trying to just give me store credit

Should be called America's discount store
I'm honestly in complete shock that this place is even still in business. If people knew the truth behind this place I assure you they would soon go under! When I enter the store I assume I'm entering a thrift store, where I can buy gentley USED clothes, home goods, etc. at USED prices! Which let me tell you is NOT the case, this place is a joke! Everything you look at is 5.99 and up it doesn't matter if it's stained or has cigarette burns or is about to fall apart, they think they have gold on their hands let me tell ya. NO JOKE today I walked by a mother and her 11 year old daughter and she looked at her mother and I quote said "dang momma I can by they same wallet for 9.99 new and they are selling a used one for that". YES an 11 year old said that I kid you not; even an outolesten child can see this place has lost their mind when it comes to their pricing! So again with them being a "thrift" store where everything is donated to them not having to pay not one penny for anything they put out on the floor they are going to charge you the same price as if you were buying it new from the store; I don't know about you but I would rather take my money to a honest discount store like TJ Max or Marshall's before I gave this greedy people a penny! The sad part is what they can't sell to you at high prices gets sold by the pound overseas! They don't donate not one penny to the community like the other area thrift stores do NOT ONE penny; there is no telling how much money these people make in any given year! If your smart you won't continue to contribute your hard earned money to a bunch of GREEDY people! THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!!

Manager windy is rude
where do I start I cane in to the thrift store in Pell city Alabama at about 845 pm to get a pair of shoes for a funeral I was told when I walked in it was About 9 so I apologize and go on with my business I am about ready to ck out and ask lady what line she the mgr replied it’s 9: 00 and I looked at my phone it was actually 8:55 5 min before they are supposed to close this manager was windy so I made a complaint

So about a month after I made a complaint on ms windy I was coming in to the Americans thrift store Pell city store and ms windy was at the door I go in she gives me this very dirty look I say no hello she replied you don’t won’t to hear what I have to say to you so I smiled and kept walking she proceeds to follow me around the store looking dirty at me then I ck out she proceeds to follow me out side and then says hey I turned she gets in my face yelling you won’t to hear what I got to say now yelling hat you going to do with her breath smelling of alcohol I ask what her problem was she replied you so I am assuming it is over the height when I came in late idk my next step is watching fox 6 news they need to hire ppl who are nice and curious to the customers I have tryed to call corporate no one will call back
