UNwanted change
It 's not the select size that has everyone up in arms, it's the thickness of the towel. Proctor & Gamble decided to change to a thinner towel to decrease the cost to make the towel. Reminds me of when Coca Cola changed the formula and called it New Coke.
The new Bounty is not a little thinner, it's much thinner. P&G had 3 choices. They could have decreased the count per roll, increased the cost or lowered the quality. Unfortunately, they sacrificed quality. People for years have been used to nice thick super absorbent paper towel. Even if the new towel is as absorbent as the old, which it isn't, the connotation in people's mind is "thicker is more absorbent than thinner." I have no idea what P&G was thinking. If it ain't broke, don't fix it certainty applies here.

UNwanted change
i just bought a 12 "super" roll select-a-size pack from sam's club. i could tell immediately they were thinner, but compared with an old one just to make sure. hold it up to the light and it's clear there is now less fiber. you can see way more light through the new ones. also, now less absorbent and not as strong; they tear easier. there is not as much embossing and the quilting pattern is different. it feels like a store brand now. BUMMER!! they have not only cheapened the product, they have raised the price! BOOOOO, P&G! call their help line 1-800-N-BOUNTY. the operator tried to convince me i was the only one who had noticed this and complained.

UNwanted change
Proctor and Gamble should have not taken away so much of the quality of this product without the customers being aware! I, for one, thought that "our usual" paper towels seemed much thinner; but we probably went through 2-3 packages of rolls before we were sure. For years, we have used ONLY their paper towels for many different jobs. For quite some time, I had been using a small number of sheets of their original product for WRAPPING UP THE FROZEN GEL PACKS I use to lessen the pain and misery of lower back and knee degeneration. The first things I began to notice were that the packs became nearly impossible to wrap; the gel packs began to constantly slide out of those paper towels, and the towels were easily ripping apart and not doing the job, It was hard to believe, but I KNEW THAT THIS HAD TO BE A DIFFERENT PRODUCT! As a senior citizen who never needed more than 3-4 sheets to hold the largest of gel packs, I am extremely DISAPPOINTED and will also have to find another paper towel that will do the job, since NO QUANTITY of these PARTICULAR sheets will work for me! I wish the company would reconsider and change back to their original product, which was excellent for every need that we had... If the company is suffering financially (?), I would be willing to pay a little more for the RIGHT paper towels, which are a medical necessity!!

Bounty
Paper towels are one of my vices. I use them in the kitchen, as I cook a lot. No old nasty cloth towels for me.
So when I was sitting at my computer, I noticed a nice thick paper towel folded up that I use to catch condensation from my diet soda. Next to it was a thin piece of crap paper towel. At first I thought maybe a friend had brought a crummy paper towel with the nice piece of cake they brought me. I decided to Google and see if dear God, my favorite paper towel had been destroyed by greed.
Google was just ads for P&G, so I went to Bing and found this site. After reading the comments, I realized that P&G greedily had destroyed a perfectly wonderful product. I won't have this crap in my house. I am donating all the new rolls to my wife's office, and will get whole Bounty towel replacements for now. I certainly will not tout Bounty anymore, and plan on getting store brand if I want cheap sizeable towels in the future!

2 ply coming apart
I am a regular user of Bounty paper products. Recently I purchased a package of towels in double rolls. Every roll I have opened
as come apart as in the 2 ply is coming apart when you tear them off . This makes them very thin and almost unusable unless you take the time to place one ply on the other...not a good quality towel...

inferior product
My husband and I have been buying Wal-Mart's brand of pick-a-size paper towels and have been happy with the quality. But recently we were in another store and needed towels. Bounty had the pick-a-size and we'd always thought of Bounty as a top quality product. So we got a big pack of them. We will never make that mistake again! I don't know what you've done to your product, but it's terrible! On some rolls the towels come apart. The paper quality is awful, and thin! They don't absorb well at all. On other rolls the paper isn't even lined- up properly and it's terrible to just get some off of the roll and use! We are going back to Wal-Mart brand. Your's is just cheap, terribly made trash!
You may use our names.

Once again, a great product ruined!
I guess Bounty thought they could sneak it by us: no mention whatsoever of a major change in quality. But, marketing folks, how stupid do you think we are! Immediate realization of loss of quality, so that now Bounty is just like the cheaper, thinner, less absorbent brands that I always avoided because Bounty was softer, thicker, and didn't shred (as it does now!). I feel cheated and disappointed. This may seem like a small thing to be upset about, but it's reflective of major societal changes, where gaming the system, lies, false advertising, and lowering of standards for bigger profits are now the American way of life. Bounty, you've lost a customer.

Bounty, the meaner ripper offer
No where on the pkg does it say 'new and unimproved' to let the consumer decide whether to gamble on a purchase. Not only did Bounty change their product, lying by omission to loyal customers, they threw their integrity away. Was it woth it? We've now seen this happen with toilet paper and tissues as well. Bounty's largest competitor should send them a thank you!

Bounty Rips off the Consumer
January 29, 2017
Bought a huge container of Bounty Select-a-Size paper towels at Walmart last month or so, and it is thinner and smaller than it has ever been. Only a few months ago it was perfect as always. Shame on you people that manufacture this. Why didn't you have the guts to raise the price rather than lower the quality/quantity. I have told at least 45 women about this ripoff. Let us hope "word of mouth" bites you in the budget. I will be looking for a thicker towel, one that justifies the price. I will never buy another product by P&G again. How foolish of you, to think so little of your customer.

Outrageous RIpoff
An egregious consumer ripoff - The towels are thinner and the perforations are atrocious.
A disgusting, reprehensible, underhanded move by P+G.
The profits of this old, uninspired company have decreased every year for the past six years - Rightfully so !
Unfortunately the other paper towel manufacturers turn out towels that are just as lousy, albeit at a cheaper price.
Astounding betrayal of consumer confidence.

Commercials
I am so sick of your commercial where the kid drags the garbage bag and knocks over the drink. Don’t you have any other commercials? I’ve never seen any other one of your commercials in this market. Please put me out of my misery!13341

Never buying again!
I noticed it's difficult to rip off the towels and the towels are rough and thinner. Don't buy anymore too much $ for bad quality. We are noticing the changes and you will be losing loyal customers to save the company $ but in long run it will ruin your reputation.
Shame on you!!!!!

write P&G President and Board Members
Ditto
Just am disgusted I have been a diehard proponent and consumer of Bounty towels and napkins. Suddenly, they are thinner than my tissues and it takes half a roll to wipe up a huge spill that two or three towels would have accomplished and still had dry areas. I was my hands I have to pull off 3 panels instead of using one and it still being partially dry. It no longer matters what brand you buy.
My question is - what is the best way to contact P&G to protest and complain about this change so that they might actually reconsider?
Can anyone on this site help with this information? I could find no email address on their website - only a phone number or a snail mail address. Hopefully they haven't retooled all their factories yet!
I think everyone should spread the word and send letters to the President, CEO and all the board members to express our dissatisfaction and feeling of betrayal by a trusted brand.
No use complaining here except to validate what each of us surmised, that something was different. Let us all complain to those who have the power to fix it

smells like beer
I bought the 6 = 12 pack of pick a size bounty paper towels today. When I got home and took off the plastic around the towels, I smelled beer. It is very nauseating. I have never had a problem with bounty before today.

Loved, loved loved Bounty select-a-size! Now it takes 2x the amount it used to for spills...might as well buy the cheaper brand if I have to use more.

RE: THE NEW BOUNTY PAPER TOWELS ARE NOTHING BUT CRAP
I JUST SWITCHED OVER TO VIVA AGAIN. I immediately noticed that the Bounty Towels (I use Select-a-Size) were tearing & hard to tear apart. Then the ROUGHNESS of the paper has definitely cheapened the towel to WAY BELOW ANY STORE BRAND on the market. They actually were affecting my skin. P & G must have added some chemical to the product that was not there before their change in thickness, etc.
A consumer would rather pay a little more for a softer & more absorbent product. I agree with every bad review above. I have to use twice as much to do the job ... Therefore, no money saved .... I am actually paying lTWICE AS MUCH considering the amount used on each job. When I ran out of paper napkins I have had on occasion to use a piece of Select-a-Size & the roughness of it no longer made that possible. It was so rough, I tho't it might tear the skin off my lips.
Enuf said. Read the rest of the reviews here & you will get the gist of what Proctor & Gamble has done to save THEIR MONEY ... NOT YOURS. Read P & G's explanation of WHY they changed the towel. Quote "TO SAVE THE COMPANY MONEY IN MANUFACTURING THE PRODUCT" .....!!! I would call this GREED ..... I hope these towels will stay on the shelves until you get the message P & G. Audrey

Bounty cheapens their product, not the price
I used to brag about bounty paper towels and would not use anything else. When my brother moved in with me, he would only buy the cheap paper towels. They were not as strong, far less absorbent, and split into two pathetic sheets. Yes, bounty cost more but I got more use out of them, So months of using 'lesser' paper towels, I went back to Bounty, only to find they changed the product and now they are no better than the cheapest brand. Bounty now splits into two thin useless paper towels, absorbs very little, and difficult to get off the roll. Bounty reduced the quality of their product, but did not reduce the price, they just ripped the customer off. Disappointed with Pa& G. We as consumers need to ban together and boycott P&G.

I do not like bounty paper towels
I agree with all the negative feedback regarding Bounty Paper Towels, I wish I could buy a good paper towel. I have tried calling customer service and they seem to act like this is the first time they’ve heard any of all the problems with bounty paper towels. If anybody out there ever finds a good paper towel please let us know.
