Subpar service in every way with Cincinnati Bell

Cincinnati Bell has the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen. Their cable and internet service are just as bad. They can't do anything right and nothing ever gets fixed properly. Even their box and interface upgrade went very wrong. Whatever you do, avoid them at all costs.

keeps locking up

tv box locks up up to 5 times a day, have called into customer service may times in the last 6 weeks. Most reps don't have a good grasp of the language.
Could it be that system is overloaded? tech came out and could not find issue, claimed our computer is causing problems, but isn't signal brought in from street and into the modem/router before it is sent to cable box and desktop? much worse since upgrade was downloaded end of March?

internet & TV problems

Had Insight system would go down when rained or foggy. Tech showed when sun shine system worked. Rain or fog system down again. Two weeks before a tech finally finds a fault in main trunk line. Another week before fixed by a tech truck running up and down road climbing poles. Year later same problem and went through same scene and bought new Apple PC as telling me pc problems after new modems bought also. Went to Cincinnati bell old system but working just slow. Cincinnati Bell installed Fioptics. System now faster but boxes go down. Switch from room to room myself then go to store exchange myself bad box but have to watch as stores not always show exchange so keep paperwork and numbers off boxes. For most part system working well for me but do not like new upgrade. TW bought insight and they push hard to get me to change and lie about speeds available which I double check on. Fioptics boxes I am close to but not true fioptics to house because changes to wires at boxes. I talk to techs at boxes when they are there as I'm retired and have some knowledge to electronics. I keep area around boxes clean so they do not have to fight weeds so that gives me some leverage with these people. If I get mad at them will probably go to AT&T which is probably no better but I have kept unlimited data and would start using it. With some good electronics and streaming can get by. Fiber Optics Cut Time Warner Cables

We decided to switch to Cincinnati Bell Fiber Optics to save money and the technician came out and installed the hardware. He went into the attic where the Time Warner cables went to each room and CUT each of the lines without our knowledge. The Fiber Optics ended up being inadequate so we switched back to Time Warner. The Time Warner technician found the wires cut and took us and showed us. By the Fiber Optics guy cutting the lines has now cost us hundreds of dollars in fees to have Time Warner replace the cables. NEVER EVER trust Cincinnati Bell Fiber Optics! If you do have them install it, I would suggest to stand over the technicians shoulder on every thing he does and ask question on it as well. This is one consumer that will NEVER buy or do any further transactions with Cincinnati Bell.

Internet

Cincinnati bell is a rip-off. I am paying $40 a month for JUST fioptics internet...it provides me with wifi that stops working maybe twice a week. You'd think that paying for one thing once a month would be simple, right? WRONG. Every single month, Cincinnati Bell adds $50-100 for "other charges". So guess what this means? It means I have to call customer service and speak extremely loud to international cincy bell "representatives" who seem to not know ANYTHING about Internet. How hard is it to charge me $40 a month, once a month, PLAIN AN SIMPLE?!?!?! No wonder they let Verizon buy the phone service, because they knew they sucked ass at everything, including "FIOPTICS" bullshit

Worst eber

Had fiber-optic TV installed last Thursday along with home phone and internet. From day one problems with freezing up and pixelating. No fun. Then, noticed you could not pause, fast forward or go backwards. Tech told us today that those features are only available on the main DVR (we have 3 more TVs and boxes). To top it off, he said you can only use 2 features of DVR at once in the WHOLE house. So if you are watching a recording and recording another show, you cannot watch a recording or record anything else!!! Are you kidding me! If you are recording 2 shows in your house you cannot watch any recordings...2 DVR features at a time for the entire house. We have an appointment tomorrow to have DirecTV to be reinstalled. 5 days of Cincinnati Bell TV was 5 days too many!!

Cannot receive my old Time Warner Email

I just recently moved from Time Warner for our internet and cable service. However, we are unable to login or retrieve our old email from Time Warner with the understanding that we would move over slowly. It appears they are blocking us. I am able to use my Verizon hotspot and get to my old email. Why is this?

Bad stewards of peoples property

I have cincinnati bells poles running through my farm. They are mostly broken and and have trees growing through lines. I had one break and it was hanging over my barn, after a long drawn out call to India ingot a local number. It took almost two months for them to make it out to repair it. I was afraid to let my kids out by barn and was afraid one of my horses would get hurt. When they came out finally the I showed the worker the other broken poles in my pasture and he said he didn't have a work order for those and left them. If you are forced to have their poles on your land they should be forced to maintain them. Their lack of concern for your property or your families safety is disgusting.

ugh

I should have read this before turning over all my TWC equipment phone internet. Like the above people I have had nothing but trouble since. I gave them the year and never got one correct bill. It took the installation guy 5 hours to install and he left no instructions. I took the equipment back paid my bill in November. Waiting for closing bill I received a bill for $155 dollars! nothing was deducted after many calls the "correct" bill came 113 after taking equipment back. You all know the routine its February and I am getting bothered by a collection agency who says if I pay...pay $94. and broken English. I turned on Spectrum 11/1/17 how can they bill me for a service when I was using a different cable company. WhAT A MESS.

Charge connection charge internet

My husband and I are disabled. We were told no connection fee when I called and the are also advertising this in line! I just got my bill and the are charging me almost $65??? Thinking about just calling and canceling. We were going to try them out and set up TV also. So So disappointed!!!

Lie about connection charges

I wish I had read these reviews before getting Cincinnati Bell Cable. We were lied to about several things. They lied about the channel line up. I specifically asked if they had a channel that my husband enjoys watching that Direct TV had, and was told yes, then when it was installed, found d out they didn't have it. Requested wireless setup, and was told installation would be $49.95. when tech arrived, he wasn't prepared for wireless setup. Said he had to get special permission. He called his supervision, got the permission and installed it. We got our bill, and they charged us $180.00 . When I called to complain, they basically said too bad. We weren't told it was going to be extra to have the wireless. They refuse to credit us.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

We recv'd the same sales pitch in the fall of 2017. MUCH cheaper for phone, internet and TV and on a combined bill. "Fioptics has just been installed at your street and you'll get much faster service" they said. I call BS! After dealing with them for 6+ months, no more. Router said internet connected however, computer, phones, etc. indicated NOT connected. TV constantly froze. Call customer service and get individuals that don't speak English. Request a Supervisor and when you finally get through, they admit that Cincinnati Bell doesn't care and that there's nothing that can be done. We had 10-12 technicians come to the house in an effort to find out what the issues were and each technician indicates that the last one did something wrong. Nobody cares and nobody wants to help. We probably contacted their customer service dept 40-50 times (which is a joke because you have to repeat your story 3-5 times each time the call is escalated). I even wrote a letter to a "secret" address which only the executives see and of course, no response at all. This company is an absolute joke these days. We have wasted SOOOO much time taking off work to meet technicians at home as well as wasted time on the phone to customer service. Finally pulled all of the equipment out and returned it to the local store and asked for the service to be discontinued IMMEDIATELY. Upon returning, the CB agent at the store agreed that "nobody cares and the field technicians don't want to take the time to look for the actual problem". WOW. Cincinnati Bell - take responsibility for the issues, admit there are problems and fix them!!!!!!!!! I will also be selling my stock in the company and I do not want to be associated with Cincinnati Bell in any way, shape or form. People - DO NOT fall for their scams, lies and irresponsibility !!

OUTSTANDING SERVICEMAN

I would like to sing the praises of my Cincinnati Bell repairman today, this guy needs to be a part of your management team. He was the most knowledgeable person that I have ever encountered the company and we are talking about centuries. He corrected my problem them he took the time to actually educate me about my improved services (laptop, Phone, and other WIFI extensions) this was absolutely mind-blowing that he volunteered the extra information, while others have just fixed the problem and left. The extra 5-10 minutes was worth its weight in GOLD and actually convinced me to stay with Bell. GIVE THIS MAN RAISE OR PROMOTION

Moved services to new home

Paid my Fioptics June 18 2018 which was a advance payment. Next bill due July 18 2018. Moved services to new address the first week of July. not sure of the exact date {2nd 3rd or 4th } Had to have a new phone number because of the location of service. received a new bill a week later for 213.22 which had a charge to transfer services. so i canceled the service on July 20th. for some reason Cincinnati Bell thinks i owe them that amount when i canceled the service 2 days after the original bill was due.Had all ready paid for service up to the 18th.{Payment of 134.91} The want me to pay another payment for the month of July because of the account numbers changed if so where is the refund for the weeks i had already paid for July 2nd to July 18. Don't have a problem with paying the trans fer fees but paying for a full month of service when i had use it for 2 days.
I would find other company's to provide service.

rip off

cincinnati bell is a definate mistake, terrible service, if your internet goes out you lose everything including tv, my tv's froze up 3 times in one night. had to keep unplugging the router to get tv back on. then they want to charge you as the customer for someone to come and fix there stuff. paid my first bill of 182.00, bill is suppose to be 230 once it stabilizes. check my next month bill due is 315.00. cause they supoosedly bill a month in advaced, so i called to cancel my service., which would have made me even on my bill cause i only had there service for one month. well i was told by customer service i still owed the 315 whether i canceled my service or not. so basically 1 month of service is costing me 182.00 plus 315.00 which equals 497.00. totally rip off company don't fall for their deceiving ads, YOU'LL BE SORRY.

Un satisfied Customer

I am not satisfied with the fact that these big corporations over charge for services, without a discount my bill would be 239.00 per month - which is almost 3k a year ! There is no justifiable reason they can be this greedy , To those that anticipate on getting fioptic service, I encourage you to reconsider... I don't want to switch over to any company to get a temporoary benefit. I am not satisfied with the services that I am getting through Fioptics. I soon plan on disconnecting service all together ... Instead of giving that 3k away per year I can invest that elsewhere ..... Besides Most people who buy cable or not home much to get their moneys worth. This is a bad business Module, whomever has come up with this idea , is focused on a short term element and does not understand that if a family has to decide wether to buy groceries or cable , its a no brainer !
Its not the employee's fault they just get the bad end of the stick , they get paid the little bucks to take the heat , meanwhile the executives and VP's are somewhere smiling and deceiving others.. With that being said Cincinnati Bell has been in business for far some time and I wouldn't be surprised if they crashed soon, due to unreasonal prices...
