Lies and horrible service
I was sold on a $54.99 plan and told them I would bring my own modem over. They said hat they could waive the $7.99 monthly fee for using their modem as still have tv and internet. The technician and all 3 people I talked to on the phone said the same thing. So I bought a modem that works better in my house. Now they tell me I have to keep theirs to watch tv and no that my real cost is 76.99 a month now instead of the 54.99 I signed up for. Travis is a technical support "supervisor" and was literally no help. They don't care about keeping customers. They lie to get a sale and then don't deliver. Spectrum sucks too, but at least they don't lie and they will explain things to you before you spend money on something that was recommended by the tecnician. DO NOT USE CINCINNATI BELL. THEY ARE SCUMBAGS. I AM CANCELLING MY SERVICE NOW.

The customer comes last!
Cincinnati Bell cannot possibly care about the customer - only their money! from the start you can only get de cent pricing if you bundle services and get things you do not want or need. I am not sure who is getting the kickbacks for this program, but they are probably in the Bahamas right now.
The most current reason for my extreme displeasure with Cincinnati Hell. My Aunt's house had Fioptics installed less than a year ago. The person who installed the line for the connection in the living room did a horrible job. Rather than running the line up and through the attic space he ran it over the doors and around the porch to drill through the side of the wall into the living room. It is ugly! While some people may not mind this eyesore, please remember there are others that do mind.
On a visit to fix problems with the poor internet service, a CBT technician agreed it was a horrible install and suggested we call customer service to get it fixed. He said this is the problem when CBT uses outside contractors for installs with no quality checks.
After numerous calls, and often getting disonnected, they agreed to send out a technician to fox the wire run. When he arrived he stated he was only here for the internet service. If he re-ran the wire it would be $150.00. He broke it down like this: $80.00 for the hour to run the cable, $25.00 for the material. I thought that would make it $105.00, but CBT math must be different. Not to mention he arrived with a bad attitude, was rude to my Aunt until I walked throught the door.
Back to customer service who apologized for the technician and stated his work order never said anything about internet sdervice (not my problem). They sert a new appointment.
Today was the day we prepared for. We even made sure the stuff in the attic was not going to be in the way and he had full access. Once again he found a reason he could not re-run the wire and tried to explain why the contractor ran it the way he did. I wonder if the cold weather is the reason these guys dont want ot do thier job, much less a good job.
I will do the job myself since CBT does not hire anyone who wants to work or that are able to do good work. Sad that the customer comes last again!

Downgrading cable boxes
In August, Cincinnati Bell downgraded its Fioptics cable boxes with a software download that eliminated Fioptics' ability to send its audio through HDMI 2.0. Instead it only works through HDMI 1.4. When that caused the audio from my TV to cease, I called Fioptics twice and had their technician visit once. Despite the fact that Bell had caused the problem, none of its tech people mentioned it. I was forced to pay for my own independent technician to figure out what Bell had done. When a company leases cable boxes and then downgrades the capability of those boxes, it should tell the customer and it should tell its own technical service people! Shame on Cincinnati Bell!
