CAN'T SEE AS PROMISED
I had a Crystalens implanted in my left eye in October 2011, and can see good up close and intermediate..but my distance vision sucks! Halos and blurriness an night and can't see far read signs etc...not past the front hood of my car. The eye surgeon wants to put another in my right eye, but definitely won't! I also had a Yag laser treatment done but that didn't help and now I have floaters which I didn't before. Don't waste your money on Crystalens. It cost me $3, 600.00 out of pocket, I haven't complained much but my eye surgeon tells me my vision is good and it's not. I'm going to try to talk to them about getting me laser to correct the distance and work out something for my right eye.

I too had crystalens sales pitch, they won!!!Oh yeah I was the perfect candidate for it, now after a second Advance Laser Correction to correct his mistake and miscalculations, and a 3rd Yag it is still the same.!!..Now they messed up my distance vision...left eye same discomfort every frigging day, vision near, intermediate, and distance fluctuates in and out of focus...it's amazing that he actually wrotr in medical report perfect 20/20 vision..Biggest lie!! Work thank god, they have such strong florescent lighting I by barely.. Constant blinking to focus on near, intermediate tolerable..with fluctuations...after the 2 surgery and Yag nite driving a nitemare!!Dr.won't admit any wrong doing, s my left eye since day one after surgery has had discomfort, like an eyelash or bad contact lens is in my eye 99 percent of the time..Don't pass out but I got screwed for $12, 000...!! Boy I am so furious, Bausch and Lomb make the Crystal lens, they are curious what went wrong? What are they gonna do? No egoo maniac doctor will adnit any wrong doing...so that ship has sailed!!

CAN'T SEE AS PROMISED
I have Crystalens in both eyes and have experienced terrible results from the beginning. Wrong powers were implanted. One close, one distance. What the heck was that plan when they were supposed to "accommodate"?? Next was Lasik for both eyes: a little better for distance but nothing for close-up but, alas, there were complications from that as well. Then YAG for both eyes which accomplished nothing! After visiting EIGHT eye doctors, including the best that Emory University has to offer four in Charlotte and the original surgeon, no one could explain [or would state] what was happening. Since then, I have had two Vitrectomies which did help with the "jelly" in the eyes. Still no movement in the Crystalens and so much surgery done that there seems no chance of getting rid of the Crystalens! Gradually, what little intermediate vision I had is fading as is depth perception. How can they say I have 20/20 vision???
I NEVER recommend Crystalens to anyone and no Dr. should recommend them either.

CAN'T SEE AS PROMISED
I had Crystalense about 4 yrs ago in both eyes. About 5k out of pocket. My distance vision is good. I have to wear glasses for any reading and computer work which is minimally 6 hrs a day. I'm so disappointed. My periferal vision is bad. When driving, cars actually appear closer on my sides then they actually are. I occasionally see flashes out my sides. I've had a visceral tear, which I was told is common with Crystalense, and have floaters all the time in one eyes. My eyes are my life, and to be honest, I'm scared. This sounds like class action!

Hey everyone,
I am trying so hard to get this Crystal lens situation and results exposed, with whom ever is with me? We have to starts a class action lawsuit or something, any lawyers out there!!
Through this website this is such a common occurrence, the doctor also rewrote his notes when he realized I stopped & disputed the charges of $12, 000, when I complained about the unhealthy outcome, yes I too was a perfect candidate, that's the sales pitch. I went to the supposedly best eye institute in Florida, and I have been screwed!!! He has never acknowledged constant discomfort, pain, flashes, in & out of focal near and far vision, etc. All the complaints mentioned, I am surprised I have been able to work, it has been difficult and painful. I went for second opinion, another 500.00 and all these frigging opthomologist stick together and say it's dry eye syndrome. It's a milllion dollar business!!! I was never ever told the crystal lens cannot be removed after 1 month, even though I complained constantly.

CAN'T SEE AS PROMISED
I am with you. My mother is with you. She has 1 one eye and needed cataract surgery. She was also sold down the crystalens highway. Her vision is worse than before. She needs glasses to see. She is grateful that she can see but totally feels robbed and cheated. What a scam. She found a new eye doctor that helped her report her old one. Her new doc thinks the crystalens should be removed as it does not perform as it claims and is no better than any other lens. Just more expensive and appears to be taking advantage of people.

CAN'T SEE AS PROMISED
I just had both eyes down at age 31 didn't get the Crystal lens thank god. I got mono vision(recommended by doctor) and it sucks just as bad as what you all are saying. I wanted the new Restor multi focal he said they were crap and did this to me now night vision is bad the one they set closer blurs the one thats set far. I am so fed up with doctors his response to me was well lets try 2 diff types of glasses and if that doesn't work try a contact lens in one because I have a semi-dilated pupil now. And if this all fails then he will change both to far 6 weeks later. Yet the whole reason he wanted to do mono vision to was eliminate glasses. Now he tell me I will have to wear them all the time. Thanks doctor your an idiot!
oh if anyone has restor please let me know how you like them!

CAN'T SEE AS PROMISED
I am 34 and have had a very weak eye all of my life. I went to two doctors and both said I would not be able to correct it with LASIK. The one doctor suggested crystalens. I followed through with the surgery at a second doctor, who was not as eager to do the implant, but merely based on my age. When I asked about complications they said I shouldn't worry. I had the surgery a month ago and the glare to the side has yet to go away. The best way to describe my situation is as though I have a contact lens that has dried and floated into my feild of vision. Yes, I see better technically, but my overall visual experience is worse. I've been beating myself up cause it was completely elective. Now I wish I had left it alone and suffered through glasses and a weakened eye. I have an appointment this week to see what, if anything, can be done to resolve the situation. I panics me to think I will have this for life.

Crystalens had to be removed
My wife had Crystalens implanted in both eyes in August, 2012. She suffered with poor vision at all distances and was so light sensitive that she had to sit in a dark room with sunglasses and could not go outside except on very cloudy days. The original eye surgeon, Duke Eye Center, nor Johns Hopkins could determine the cause of her problems. Her vision degraded to 20/200. Everyone said it was not the lenses because they had never seen lenses cause this type of problem. Finally the eye surgeon agreed to exchange the right eye after I agreed not to sue him. On Sept. 4, 2013 the exchange was done with a Alcon monofocal lens and within 8 hours she could see clearly and the light sensitivity was much improved. The same result when the left eye was done on Sept. 25. The doctor stated that the lenses "popped right out" and were not adhered to her eye at all, which he found strange since they had been in for over a year. He believes her body rejected or was allergic to the material in the Crystalens. I am asking Bausch + Lomb to reimburse us about $11,000 for out-of-pocket expenses associated with this. So far, they are ignoring us.

ReSTOR Lens
2015 I would do anything to have my God given lenses back. I had 20/20 distance and close up were getting bad to the point I was wearing cheaters with 200/225 lenses. I was tired of trying to keep up with them, arms breaking off, filthy lenses etc... I would be willing to go through all again forever just to get the************** out of my eye's. I had the procedure by a renowned eye specialist idoctor ******** ************ of Randolph Rd. Charlotte NC October 2012. I am 'WARNING' anyone that is considering this 'STOP' DO NOT have this procedure done! I have not seen a clear day for over 2 years. I can not wait to go to bed so my eyes will be closed and I do not have to deal with it. An example of how my vision is doing since the procedure (1) like when you've been in a heavily chlorinated pool. Another example to help you understand what I am dealing with (2) as if there is a Vaseline film over both eyes and it never clears up (3) during pollen it is miserable, feels like dust has been blown in my eye and last for weeks! (4) When looking through my eye's I also have faint objects floating across the eyeball like trash or a hair! I have done everything this Dr. told me to do, trust me I was excited to have the procedure and would have loved not having to go back to Dr. *! As far as halo's... they improved some but they are still there no as vivid... except for the sodium vapor lights (yellowish street lights) are still just as bad! The rings come away from the light what looks to be 6 feet in circumference. This Dr. I used to do the ****** procedure has introduced this procedure to many Dr's. he is suppose to be renowned and top notch the reason I chose and trusted him! He has no bed side manner and acts as though he is insulted when I tell him my problems, he doesn't display any compassion *** he acts like it is something I'm just going to have to live with... he already has my money! I have been back for follow up and 2 other times after that, each time I go I have a co-pay and he bills my insurance for a ridiculous amounts. Dr. * gave me a prescription for ******** for three months... I did it and nothing has changed! Reading the insert for ******** plainly states it will not work if you have plugs... I have them in all 4 ducts! Have you priced ********, it did not help my problem! I go in the grocery stores or any store with florescent lights and it's almost unbearable as far as irritation and slight pain in my eyes! When looking at the label on the shelf and can not read anything on it... is too blurry! The visions in-between the far and mid, mid and close do not do well! Believe me... how I wish I could see a clear day even a few day's a week! I would love to boast and encourage others to have ****** procedure done... but after my experience and my others I have read about... I would not wish this on my worse enemy! I can not believe I am going to have to live with this the rest of my life! I will not go back to Dr. * in Charlotte! Wish I knew someone that could help me!

With so many patients screwed by Crystalens, why hasn't a class-action lawsuit been filed yet?
If somebody knows of one, please post a link to it!

Going to need help
I'm going to need help.... I had cataract surgery in March 2012 Bausch and Lomb implants in both eyes... Was fine until a yr ago Things started clouding up... My right eye is worse, Had an apt today and it comfirmed that the lense has gone bad. ;o( dr recommended since it's more of a pain in the neck thing now... to wait at least 6 mo until "I have to do it" his reasoning is right now, I'm retired...I do not read alot... and I'm ok with this...see the wisdom of it... However his and my concern is that I've already had the surgery once... The second time, there is scar tissue to work around... Second time would carry more risk of not working well or having issues... NEVER had I even heard that the lenses could "go bad" ;o( He says it can... It certainly was not a risk I was told about or ever heard of... Don't know anyone else who ever had it happen... SO What if I have it replaced? AND they screw up in a couple yrs again??? 3rd time isn't likely to be any better? how many times is this goign to happen... Is it just Bausch and Lomb? I saw there there was a law suit a couple yrs ago, but nothing more recent....

What is failure ratio using this brand ?
I want to buy contact lenses (not implants) from Cristalens, and was looking for reviews in Google. Most people in this page complain about implants inserted via surgery; a class-action lawsuit requires a few more issues than 10 or 20 bad stories over the world; and it would also require deep investigations to proove that the problem comes from the implant, and that the doctor putting the implant in the eye did his job 100% perfectly.
Also, if some customers are unhappy about these products, which other company builds better products ?
Also, eye technology is still growing, and a few mishaps may be a required step for research to go forward, and try to develop better products for the far future. I am not denieing your pain; I am saying the pain of a few people may be a contribution for the good of our children. And I know what I am talking about: I have MYSELF been victim of a misshap during an operation of my leg; doctor made a mistake near my knee, and I lost a few muscles in my foot; and this have bad impact on my daily life, every day, for my whole life. I could have gone to court and start a trial.
So, what is the failure ratio of surgery using Cristalens implants ? Are those failures due to the implants, and have the doc always done his job 100% perfectly ? What is the failure ratio when using products from other companies ?
Even if the risk for me is lower than for people who complained in this page (I will buy wearable lens; not implant), I could still loose one or both eyes if lenses were really bad ...

CRYSTAL LENS WORK AS ADVERTIZED
I had Crystalens implanted in both eyes in 2012. My vision with cataracts was steadily getting worse with everything appearing gray or brown. Could hardly see at night to drive and no amount of correction could make up for the cloudiness in my lens. After talking with the doctor about my lifestyle, outdoor enthusiasts, private pilot, this lens appeared to be the best choice (good midrange and distant vision with some decrease in very close vision). And it has turned out great, everything is clear and bright, I have 20/25 vision at distance, 20/12.5 at midrange and only need readers for very fine print. My eyes have adapted to the lens and Im able to focus, distant or near just like with my young eyes. There are some issues do deal with, glare is always a problem with implants so good polarized sunglasses are needed outside. And, after about 3 years I did have some clouding in both eyes, but a YAG procedure fixed that and for a time I did have a lot of floaters and black spots but that has settled down now and my visions is clear again. Im 70 years old and I couldn't be happier with the vision Crystalens has given back to me. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Crysrtalens ?
Had both eyes done in 2014. Couldn't believe how well they worked. Initially. After two years it is totally unbearable to look at a computer screen for longer than three minutes. A cell phone for 1 minute. All becomes blurry. I walk out of my house and my truck looks like it has flat tires. Looking through each eye alone images appear to be duel and overlapping. Doc tells me DRY EYE. I use special drops in the morning and before bed. I use special drops all day long. No luck in clearing up vision. The only thing that works is closing my eyes for 15 minutes and then don't look at you phone and all is well. If I don't look at a computer or phone. Vision is near perfect. Doc says Looking at these you blink less and eye dries out. Really what are drops for? I am a very avid reader. I don't fly any more because I am retired but have always been critical of my vision. I wish I knew how to fix this instead of always having smoke blown up my fourth point of contact.

CRYSTAL LENS, CAN'T SEE AS PROMISED
I am a private pilot. On my initial consultation the Doctor told me he recommended the Crystal lens. His exact words were; I will have you reading a restaurant menu at arms length with minimal lighting. I had this surgery 3/20/16, the results are I cant read large print at an arms length, my 84 year old mom reads much better than I can and she has the standard distant lens. I paid $9300 for these lens. The goal for the whole operation was to fly IFR in my plane without flipping glasses up and down trying to read the instruments on the dashboard of the plane... not even close! I was told by my Doctors partner Doctor who did my last check up that the lens was a total failure and does not work as advertised, she was the only honest Doctor in the place! My Doctor was the most highly advertised guy on the West Coast of Florida! There needs to be a law suite on the Crystal Lens! DO not buy them!
