Bias & discrimination complaint
I went to donate plasma today (2/20/18) and the kiosk told me I had to go see staff. I waited in a room until , asst. facility mgr. entered and started a one way 'conversation' with me. She accused me of being rude to a couple of staff members and to herself as well (which after discussing it further with her, it was revealed that no words were spoken between myself and her and that I was in fact being rude to my arm). Accusing someone of being rude can be a subjective determination and can be debated among the parties. She then told me that she did not want me to come back to the facility any more and that I was being 'banned'. Note that I had previously filed a complaint against an employee at this facility for what in my mind was unwarranted rudeness towards myself.
Given the fact that she never once asked me for any input during the 'conversation' and that she never asked me if I thought the accusations were true and given the fact that no other solution was offered by her to me except for me being banned, these actions clearly demonstrate a preconceived bias against me in this matter. This bias translates into a discriminatory overt action against me.
Therefore I, a senior citizen, disabled Vietnam veteran, am filing a discrimination complaint against CSL to the appropriate Federal and State agencies.
Additionally, I will raise real concerns that I have with the FDA about the questions asked in the screening kiosk. Some answers to questions that require a yes or no response cannot be known by the person involved in the screening process. The fact that no MD. is available for concerns by the donors also seems to be a problem.
For the record, several people told me that if I file a complaint against an employee at the facility they will find a way to ban you from ever coming back. Personally, I can live without the 'chump change' and just thought I was helping others by giving my plasma.
