Hours of Operation
CSX Trains in Orlando FL
Has anything been done to help alleviate the excessive horn noise from the trains running after midnight along South Orange Ave? Seems like the noise starts after 11 PM and continues all the way to 6 AM. Some trains hit the horn continuously while others do short bursts. With the Sun Rail System coming in 2014, you can only wonder what it will be like for residents.

Hours of Operation
Agreed, the Orlando community is extremely irritated at the constant horn blowing all night. I seriously doubt that there is that much traffic during the night that the train needs to alert that it is coming through. I can see during the day hours with so much distraction, but all during the night?? come on seriously?? Some of us actually work during the day, I know it must be a new concept, but we aren't disturbing you during the day when you are trying to sleep. Not to mention our children being waked up all through the night. People shouldn't have to leave their homes and move because of inconsiderate people!!

Hours of Operation
I live in the Greenbriar neighborhood in Clearwater, FL and have experienced numerous cases where the CSX trains have been laying on the horn in the wee hours of the morning (2-5am). I agree it's probably better on everyone if they did run in the morning to avoid clogging up roads during the day. But one short "toot" as the train approaches each road should be sufficient warning (in addition to the lights and guard rails on the road) to the LIMITED traffic that should be on local roads at 2-5am.

Hours of Operation
Trains have been around a long time and are vital to our economy. When you move within several miles of a railroad track, you can expect to hear it, depending on which way the wind blows. Seriously, this is a known fact and should have been taken into consideration when purchasing a home. When I purchased my home, there was nothing behind it. Now I have a busy road. Can I complain? No. I live within a mile of the Safety Harbor Train Track and it wakes me at 3 most week nights, just as the UPS planes wake me at 5 most mornings when they land from the north, into the st. pete clearwater airport. We have a night club down the street that is allowed to blast their music till 2 am...and it keeps me awake some nights, again, depending on wind direction. This is all a part of living in a city/suburb...get over it. and do more during the day so you fall into a deeper sleep at night. I've learned to roll over and go back to sleep. I suggest you do the same.

train noise
The Worst Service in Cartersville Ga.....the trains that run through intersection at iron belt road tonight 10/21/2013.....we have counted up to 7 trains crossing that intersection...3 of them within 10 mins...this is a backwater town...and now sounds like we live next to a metro rail....really? 3 trains in 10 mins in the middle of the night at 3:30 am...my home is a mile away and the train sounds like it is in my backyard...your motto is "quality in motion"...do you people even know the word "quality"? doubt it...you're waking up everyone in the surrounding neighborhoods all night...shut up already and run your damn trains during the day when no one cares if you wanna toot your stupid horn...and change your logo to "we don't give a damn if we keep you up all night cause we're a crap transportation that wants to feel important with our big horns"

blocked roadway
On sunday dec 1 from 1:05 until 1:55 a CSX train was blocking state rt 82 in lorain county, ohio. The blockage was on rt 82 just west of columbia rd (rt. 252)There were 2 vehicles from the lorain county sheriffs dept. that were on an alert run who also had to turn around and seek other ways around the blockage. I called 911 to see if there was an accident or to ask if they needed to address the train being stopped. They connected me with the sheriffs office and I logged one of several complaint called in about the train. I understand trains and how vital they are at moving the nations goods. But the time that the road was blocked was excessive and unacceptable for any motorist. When i say 50 minutes that is no exaggeration as I had a NFL football game on the radio and i was aware of the time mounting up while waiting. Not good man, not good at all. There are many things in todays society that we have to deal with, especially things that we have no control over…each adds up to a mounting sense of frustration in life…where there doesn't need to be. CSX is not doing any PR perks in my eyes. And I really don't care how many tons of cargo are moved x number of mile on a single gallon of fuel, just do it, and don't piss me off by blocking my roadway for more than 10 minutes.

Blocked roads/town
I want to know why CSX is allowed to hold up an entire town for over an hour at a time. Having multiple trains stopping only allowing 4-5 cars to pass at a time, before another came trough and stopped a second time, then when the train finally decided to move we had to wait an additional five minutes for the guards to go up, people were very upset and driving around the guards. With a town as small as ours and only having two police officers on duty, a lot can go wrong very quickly. Also, I am a diabetic and my sugar was dropping and I was alone with no phone. I am really upset with CSX, shame on them for the bull crap they pull, especially the potential harm they place our town in.
Sincerely, Kelly R. Taylor

trash
I have 2 complaints...
1. You had a big machine come thru here about a year ago (and yes , this is about the 4th contact I have made about this) and it reached across both sides of the track and cut down trees up to about an inch and a half. It even threw chips up on my back porch..... :The ditch across the track on the west side has not been cleaned up and the trash that thing caused is still outside my back yard. My next call will be to a lawyer and YOU will pay the lawyer and YOU will clean it up. I'm tired of fighting rats, mice, snakes coming across the track and into my house and you have refused to do anything about it. It is 6-28 and if it is not cleaned up in 2 days, expect to hear from a lawyer

The roads against the tracks
I want ya"ll to fix the roads on Pace Blvd. It is between Garden St n Barrancas Ave. Last year i blew out a tire on the bumps next to the tracks. Saturday i bent a rim on them. There is no signs warning drivers of the bumps at the tracks. If it is not fixed soon, I will contact an attorney for payment of lost tire n bend rim. It seems u cam make the other crossings easy to cross in pensacola, now make this one. Thanks

Too Loud Too Long
Defuniak Springs is a small town. There is only one restaurant serving drinks near the tracks downtown, and that restaurant doesn't even stay open late. My problem is the horn volume from midnight to 5 AM. At that time of night, finding a car downtown would be as rare as finding a whooping crane. I know the trains, by law, have to blow their horns as they approach the crossings, but do they have to be so loud in the early morning hours of this "one horse" town? Some engineers are considerate: that is, they don't blow the horns at full volume, or blow the horn in almost one continuous blow all the way through town. Can't all the engineers just tone down the volume a bit after midnight? I can't believe there can be that many accidents here.( I do know of one recently where a truck was literally stuck on the tracks - no amount of horn blowing was going to make it move and it was hit. I also know of an incident near Pensacola of a "suicide by train." Again, no amount of horn blowing will ever prevent that kind of tragedy either.) I want CSX to know I like trains, I just want some of the boys to tone it down a little during the wee hours in a small town, that's all.

Train in front of my home for 4 days
There has been a train in front of my home parked for 4 days. I have lived here for 67 years and I very used to train traffic, however I do like to sit on my front porch but I do not like looking at a parked train. I know they stop for several hours at times and that's OK but not four days. Please see what you can do about this problem. Thanking you in advance.

Complaint on crossing condition
The crossing on St. Rt. 82 in Eaton Twp. is in terrible condition. It has big holes that were patched and now they are bigger holes. The vehicles crossing the tracks, almost come to a stop in order to keep the vehicle intact, which is very dangerous as this is a 50mph speed limit road. Someone is going to get rear-ended there.
The crossing needs replaced NOW!!
