Desert Property Services - scam artists! Stay away!!!

I hired Desert Property Services (Mike Karylyle and Lynda Miller) to finish some minor repairs in my house. They demanded money straight ahead, but their job was sloppy and unprofessional. I actually had to hire another man to redo what they had done. These people are not what they say they are and their goal is to scam as much homeowners as they can. Beware, don't hire Desert Property Services!!!

Thank you KevinG for your post. I agree with your comments 100%. They are completely accurate.I too was scammed from Mike Karylyle and Lynda Miller, Mike's self proclaimed "wife" (not - that's another lie), mistress / slave (getting warmer) / HOME OFFICE janitor of the week (bingo, most likely where the truth lies). They run this "desert property services" scam out of their home living room. What a sham. I too was charged upfront and left to hire another contractor to clean up their utter and disgusting mess. I have now learned to never trust another contractor again. I cannot believe how these 2 scam artists sleep at night. Homeowners everywhere must be made aware of their unlawful tactics and purely deceitful antics.

It’s sad that a so called “grown man” would go to such extremes – and tell such outrageous lies about my company, at his age.

Desert Property Services (my company) has always stood behind our work, and our reputation. Which, by the way, happens to be very good with the Homeowners at Monterey Country Club. We’ve never had to lien a homeowner’s property (until this guy came along). Nor have I ever had to even consider hiring an Attorney before… again, until this guy came along.

In a nutshell…. We completed his job within 3 weeks of starting. I have emails where he praises our work – “but he needs more time to come up with his final payment”. (Less than $5,000)

When payment didn’t come, and he skipped off to Hawaii for his 3 month “vacation”….. (hoping to expire our lien rights), he became enraged that we put a lien on the property anyway. That’s when the lies initially began – and we filed the Defamation lawsuit.

The truth of the matter is, although our settlement clearly states that he is not to try to harm my reputation in any way, we can almost time him on the next spontaneous combustion of his keyboard. This is his 5th posting about my company. Sometimes, he sends copies of his postings directly to my home, addressed to Lynda – in hopes of upsetting her. (He previously admitted in Court Documents that he was aware she has Multiple Sclerosis – and that stress would make it worse for her.)

Finally, Lynda hasn’t stepped foot on the grounds of Monterey Country Club since she delivered gifts to everyone last December for Christmas. She hasn’t worked for Desert Property Services in months. And his allegations and lies about her are nothing more than “Pure, Unadulterated, Poppy-Cock”. She is genuinely loved by my clients – many of whom have become dear friends of ours for life.

It’s just sad that this guy cannot tell the truth from a lie. None of his appliances were damaged. He’s referring to what he “thinks” he knows about somebody else’s job – where there was hard water deposits on the front of the fridge near the water dispenser. I couldn’t confirm, nor deny that “our guys” let the water drip down the front – so instead, I bought the client an entirely new $3k refrigerator.
“Which in fact still has the same problem” But I stepped up and handled it like a man.

As far as his allegation of bringing over a “long hair dog” – we have a Chihuahua – which we didn’t get until 9 months AFTER we were done with his job. (I have papers from the shelter to prove this.) Judge his letter by the facts – if you need more, I’ll be happy to email copies of his emails praising us, but asking for more time to pay us. Or I can send the certified copies of his text messages – directly from Sprint – where he keeps putting me off for installing his stove – until after he left for his vacation. I can send a copy of the “Stop Work Order” I posted prior to filing the lien, when he set up a day and time for me to finally install his stove, knowing he had already snuck out of California like a thief in the night.

The difference here is… I can prove everything I am saying. I have nothing to hide, and no reason to lie. I appreciate those who recognize what this guy is doing, and also stood up for the truth.

It’s just sad that there are people like him out there.

You were contracted to do work on a house that your client's bought through tax default. We had a lease contract that predated the new owner's purchase, because the old owner was hoping to sell the house in time to pay his back taxes. The county sold the house first. Even though we were totally within our rights to stay in the house, to be nice, and because we had decided we didn't really like the house, we told you and the new owner that we just needed a few days to move our stuff out.

THE NEXT DAY YOU WENT IN AND STOLE ALL OF OUR STUFF. MY ROOMMATE IS BESIDE HERSELF. WE ALL ARE. NOW YOU AND THE OWNER WON'T ANSWER OUR PHONE CALLS OR TEXTS, WHEN ALL WE WANT IS OUR STUFF BACK.

NOW YOU AND THE NEW OWNER ARE GETTING SUED FOR MANY, MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

Why won't you even talk to us? Because you are guilty as f-k, that's why.

Additionally, my boyfriend's medical equipment, and my roommates whole life, including irreplaceable pictures, etc. We took before and after pictures of the house and also pictures of our stuff in the house and garage.

I notified the owner of the situation and called the DHS Police.
And with a grant deed in my hand and a police form indicating that we were to renovate the home signed by the owner. Had no less than 7 Officers tell us "The owner has every right to do with and/or dispose with on their property." And with a Police report and your so called box of debit cards and what looked like stolen mail as none of it had yours or others that you claim went straight to the Police dept! You can pick them up there.

We were instructed to proceed with the renovation and with the owners and the blessings of the DHS police Took 5 guys,5 hours and 5 Dump Loads to the dump and stripped you of your squatting claims.


Now dont get me wrong I think what you were trying to do was wrong and you made some bad life decisions here and lost dearly for it.
But I am not in the business to destroy anyone's lives but in fact I had a job to do and was in the right at all times.
We protected the owners from a months long squatting eviction process. And no one has been sued,
With no ramifications other than a scathing review from you. Touche on you! You really gave it your all on it.
But the owners thanked us as well as gave us a Good Yelp review.
