totally deceptive

I went on a hotel website - I thought - and before I could make the reservation, noticed that it was going to charge me for the entire reservation 4 months in advance. I clicked off the website, but despite this, I got a text confirming the reservation. I then immediately tried to cancel it but couldn't get through to anyone. Recording kept saying, "Sorry, we cannot process your request" and then it would disconnect. I called the VERY nice hotel - Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe, who eventually got through to the reservations.com. They did cancel my reservation, but I will not get credit for my almost $800 charge for 10-15 BUSINESS days, despite the fact they could charge the card immediately. Please WATCH carefully to make sure you are booking with the hotel (which I have now booked with at a much better rate) and not through this group.
