Express Mail Service (EMS) - Egypt
My wife sent me important papers that should arrive ASAP and that's why she used EMS service provided by Egypt post.
Package sent from Egypt on 13/Aug/2014 and did not receive until now 24/8/2014.
Meantime it took to arrive here (United Arab Emirates) is 4-5 working days.
Package contains medical reports for my wife and kids and these documents are needed urgently within this month.
I tried to contact Post office internationally over phone but no body answers. Sent an email and fortunately got the reply instantly with flight numbers that I do not know what to do with. I called UAE post office and as expected they did not receive a package contains my tracking number (EE104895497EG).
Issue became urgent and really do not know what to do with that hassle. All I know is that will be the last time to use services from Egypt post office and will use more reliable companies like DHL and FedEX.

With held medicine
See email I have sent Egypt Post. Very disappointed. Still unresolved and think I will be charged a large bill...
Dear sir/madam,
In addition to my previous emails please note that I fully intend to make other expats aware of the following,
The letter you sent states the arrival date of my parcel as: 19.01.19.
The letter you sent is stamped with the date: 31.01.19
USPS tracking states the arrival date of the parcel as being: 27.01.19
This means that one of the following has occured: you are either telling the truth that my parcel arrived on 19.01.19 and failed to make me aware of this until 31.01.19 so that I am forced to pay additional costs (50le after the first 7 days)
OR that the parcel did arrive on the 27.01.19 (as stated by USPS tracking services) and that I have been lied to and forced to pay additional costs (50le after the first 7 days).
I would be grateful if you could explain this issue fully before I make other expats aware.

With held medicine
It was followed by this message that I sent and yet still no help. They asked for the tracking number 5 times which I have supplied...
Good morning,
Please be aware that if I do not receive my parcel by 19. 02. 19 or I am charged at all for the delay caused by Egypt post then I will be posting the following on Facebook and Twitter so that the Expat community knows what kind of service to expect when dealing with Egypt Post.
I purchased a product online and paid for delivery to my home address.
The product was tracked by USPS online tracking services. They state the arrival of the product as: 27.1.19.
Egypt post states the arrival of the product as being: 19.1.19. USPS tracking services state the product as being in Los Angeles, America on the 19.1.19.
Egypt post sent a letter to make me aware of the arrival of the product on the 31.1.19 (stamped and dated) This states a 50LE daily charge for holding the product.
The a dates show the following: Egypt post have either received the package on the 19.1.19 and waited 12 days to inform me so that I have to pay extra charges.
Or the dates show that USPS tracking services are correct. The parcel arrived in Egypt on the 27.1.19 and Egypt post are falsely claiming that the parcel arrived on the 19.1.19 purposefully so that I have to pay extra. Even with this Egypt post would have waited 4 days to inform me.
I will post proof of purchase. Proof of postage and packaging stating my home address.
The fact that I have provided the following: tracking numbers (several times). A colour copy of my passport. Proof of purchase.
Evidence that DHL are able to process packages through customs with the exact same information and deliver to the customer's home address. Egypt post cannot.
That Egypt post have a branch on road 9 that they could send the package to if they didn't want to make collection difficult for customers. This is clearly to charge their customers more.
I will also post that the package contains MEDICAL supplies that Egypt Post is now with holding unfairly and has done for the best part of a month.
The above will not be received favourably by the expat community. However, I do not want other expats to experience the poor service and stress that I have when dealing with Egypt Post.
I will be posting the above on multiple social media forums on: 19.2.19.
