Un Ethical Yacht Broker
A “smear campaign” has been initiated by Peter and Dana Motlik of Gig Harbor, Washington. Dana is a disgruntled ex-employee of Emerald Bay Yachts that was fired “with cause” in 2009 for alcohol and anger related problems. She is now the focus of a lawsuit brought by Emerald Bay Yachts against her and her present employer, NW Yachtnet of Tacoma. The Motliks, are the prime suspects of the investigation relating to the “smear campaign” and for three counts of malicious vandalism in Gig Harbor. Since the lawsuit was filed, they have posted hateful notices on Craig's List, Google, and other sites and continue to try to deflect their guilt and culpability by tarnishing the reputation of the complainant. Emerald Bay Yacht Sales is a bad apple
Bad business. They are actually the ones with an on going smear campaign against all their competitors. Frankly, I think the public knows it, his competitors know it, and everyone is sick of his irrational and childish behavior. See the original comments below posted in regards to Emerald Bay Yacht Sales. What does owner Scott Alprin do? He copies and pastes them his competitors review sites. They were his reviews, not theirs. Unethical yacht broker. South sound boaters all know it.

THESE GUYS ARE UNREAL, CLAIM THEY ARE THE BIGGEST YACHT BROKERS ON THE WEST COAST??? I LOOKED THEM UP ON LINE AND COMPARED THEM TO OTHERS IN THE INDUSTRY, WHAT A JOKE ! I WAS APPROACHED BY THEM TO LIST MY BOAT, ESTIMATED $375, 000, FOR 10 % COMMISSION WHICH IS WHAT I UNDERSTAND IS THE INDUSTRY STANDARD. MEANWHILE MY BUDDY GETS A LETTER/ FLYER FROM THEM ATTACHED TO HIS BOAT OFFERING FAR LESS OF A COMMISSION. I WONDER IF THESE GUYES CURRENT LISTINGS KNOW THEY ARE GETTING SCREWED FOR HIGHER COMMISSIONS THAN THESE GUYS ARE OFFERING TO NEW CUSTOMERS. MY OPINON... THESE GUYS ARE USED CAR SALESMEN...
You are correct, this guy is a crook, a liar and I also heard he got into trouble on the east coast involving under age girls. He has burned every bridge with every yacht broker he has worked for in the puget sound area since he came here when I first met him in 2000. The only reason he has this business is because he tricked a woman with money to bank roll it. He is not to be trusted or done business with.

Continual Smearing of This Company
BEFORE YOU DO BUSINESS WITH A YACHT BROKER CHECK OUT WHAT IS POSTED AT "Puget Sound Boater Forum". It certainly makes sense out of who to trust and who is the honest and dishonest brokers.

Gig Harbor Yachts is Corrupt
Gig Harbor Yacht Sales owner Al Hayes tries to muddy the waters for any other business that competes with him. There is no "Captain Tom Stevens" that is posting comments at this site. Al Hayes uses the alias of "John Bee" to attack his competition. A decade ago he smeared and attacked Dan Long with Sunset Yacht Sales. Today his most formidable competition is Emerald Bay Yachts, so they are now the target of his unethical attacks.

If someone uses a "smear campaign" it is Scott Alprin of Emerald Bay Yachts. He uses my name and write completely untrue statements all over the internet. It's all garbage. Reading this accusation is a joke, Dana Motlik and I had nothing to do with it, and the three counts of malicious vandalism ? I do not even know what was done to him? There is a lot of people who had their run with him. If we were suspects in anything I think that we would at least be contacted by GH police department, but I did not even receive a phone call. Since my name have been dragged into this then I have to share with the readers the facts on what happened to Dana Motlik. Yes she worked for him and was fired after she refused his sexual advances ( there was also a restraining order posted by his ex- business partner and girlfriend as well), but he did not mentioned that !!! He selectively did not mention that he never paid Dana Motlik her commissions for the sold boats in the time period. She had a no compete contract with Emerald Bay Yachts which stated that she will receive her commissions within 30 days. He was promising her like a used car salesman that she will get paid she never did. He breached his own contract, so she started working for competing brokerage. Scott Alprin is sue happy and drags thing up (look up his records) to the point that a law suit would cost her as much as what the commissions would be, so she just went on in her new job. My conclusion is if you are a potential customer and want to use ethical and trustworthy brokerage my advice is to look elsewhere .
