To all potential talent that are allowing these posts to dictate who FilmComm is, we urge you to please use governed research venues such as the BBB or ACTRA to research us and who we truely are. The reality is that the above posts were written by ex employees and potential talent that have been turned away from the agency. We have never ever had one complaint filed with any legitimate venue including the BBB. We have been in operation for over 13 years, manage over 900 actors, there would be several more complaints if the above were true.

Sadly, nowadays, there is nothing that a company can do to protect themselves from online defamation. Just as you may have negative Tweets on Twitter or Facebook comments, the internet simply is not a credible way to judge a company or person.

We are one of the strongest non union agencies throughout the GTA, we do not sell anything, nor do we have any in house photographers. We go by the same photographer list as the actors union, they are all independent and their rates are easily verified on their websites. There are over 100 names on the list. Talent is free to shoot with whomever they wish as long as the materials are proper. We do not force anyone to shoot anywhere ......we do however force our talent to hold up their end of their contract and supply us with their materials in a timely and professional manner. Please read specifications on the ACTRA (actor's union) website. We do not make the industry rules, it is not our fault that actors must supply headshot to their agents. This is a universal industry rule and we do NOT have any investment or connection to any photographers. We are NOT a school, we do not sell training or anything else. We are in great standing with all the major casting houses throughout Toronto and our professional, reliable talent that we represent have absolutely no complaints about us!

If we take a potential new, non-resumed actor aboard and that actor is unsuccessful, the agency is in the hole for all of the costs incurred with taking on a new client and working for them. We do NOT charge any management fees, thus how do we benefit from actors not being successful? We are on straight commission as all agency's and we want all of our actors to be selected and successful.

Please use common sense when reading theses posts, please come and sit down with us if you want to know how we really work. The above posts are unfounded, ridiculous and there is a reason they were authored by anonymous people. If these were truly valid the authors would have most certainly contacted us or at the very least would sign their names to verify that they are in fact clients of ours.

Please also keep in mind that each and every doctor, lawyer, mechanic, agent, casting house, etc. have negative posts online. This is not something that is exclusive to us and the majority of educated people understand that this is a ridiculous forum in which to judge a company that has been in operation for the past 13 years.

I urge any of the above authors to please contact the agency if you feel that we have wronged you in some way, or that there is more we could have done for you. Sadly we cannot make casting directors choose a certain actor, we cannot make that actor have availability in their schedule, we cannot make that actor show up on time, we cannot make actors follow the agency rules to increase their success. Please do not give these authors the ability to make you miss out on a potential opportunity simply because they are bitter and upset that the Agency released them, fired them, or didn't take them aboard to begin with.
