Sick cats
I have posted my complaints on other WebSites but I want my voice to be heard wherever and whenever it is possible. We purchased a White Persian Male Cat from Ms. Barbara Lafferty and her husband, Roger. In the beginning he seemed to be fine but 16 months and $2,000 in Vet bills has proved otherwise. He had ringworm which took a year to eliminate and many meds, iodine baths, lime sulphur baths, steroid shots and on and on. Part of this was due to a vet not diagnosing him. She did a culture and said it was negative for ringworm but the second vet simply using UV light to detect it so this little guy has been to hell and back. When I first contacted Ms. Lafferty about the ringworm she said that he probably had it and had contracted it from the Vet. She even insisted we drive him 50 miles to her so she could have her son dip him at a cost of $75.00 Said she did not believe the vet was right about him not having ringworm. Why you ask is this? Well of course all her cats have it so she knew he had to have it and wanted to profit from it. The bottom line according to several vets is that his immune system is low due to probable inbreeding.
He nearly died to a virus he picked up from feral cats coming around the lanai. The oral meds he was on for ringworm made him so sick he had to be an IV for dehydration. Now he has Miliary Dermatitis. Look it up it is bad stuff. He continues to have steroid injections (Vetalog) to stop the horrible itching. He is a poor eater due to never feeling well. We finally found a food he likes and he eats better but is still under 7 lbs. at 16 months old.
We are in our early seventies and this whole ordeal has been hard on us both financially and emotionally. I can't find any legal route to stop this woman but I beg you do not do business with her. There are many stories on the Internet about her and her cats and believe what you read. If you really only want a persian or other full bred cat take it to a good vet. Do not trust her vet.
She should have seen the ringworm.
I can only describe her as a wolf in sheep's clothing. Stay away.

WE LOVE BARBARA LAFFERTY KITTENS, AMAZING BREEDER
We have purchased multiple beautiful healthy kittens from Barbara Lafferty of Furrb cats, also known as Furr-b cats cattery over the past 5 years! They are our very loving furry kids and we have never had any issues with Barbara or her kittens! Barbara is the most honest, reputable and proper breeder you can ask for, especially in comparison to other breeders out there!
Her kittens always come in a prestine coat condition, and loving personalities, as well an official health certificates and vaccinations/ and appropritate testing! I have visited her home as well multiple times, and its always very clean and fresh, and shes very welcoming and sweet, just like her kitties!
I have met a few other of her kitties as well, and they were in excellent health and had gorgeous huge blue eyes and very healthy beautiful coats! Barbara has been working with her amazing lines for many years and she has been breeding champion and grand champions and i feel very blessed and honered to have adopted our furry babies from her!
Her cats look in real life just like they do in their photos! Feel free to reach out to me and i can show you beautiful amazing babies we got from her!
Im sorry about your kitty and your vet having difficulties treating him for some reason. However i would never let my cats outside let alone around feral cats so they don't pick some dangerous disease like your kitty did! Our experience has been nothing like yours!
