Took my money, but never delivered

This situation has been resolved as of 09JAN12. I was issued a full refund in a timely manner after I requested, so I'm happy with the outcome. For the inconvenience, Mr. Rose offered me a discount for any future purchases from his site. greatpricedfurniture.com is a reputable business, they just ran into a road bump involving the freight company for one of the companies. which supply them furniture. I would still purchase from GPF as they do have a wide selection.

I have a similar situation, I placed my order for an AICO desk on September 23 2011 for about 2500$, after waiting for three months and multiple phone calls and emails and promises that my order will be shipped I decided to cancel the order and request a refund. I requested a refund over three weeks ago and the situation has not been resolved yet, when I called last week they said that my refund was approved and will be issued immediately, still a week later no refund or even an email to explain what is happening. This company has extremely poor customer service and will never recommend it to anybody.

I placed an order with Great Priced Furniture over the phone on October 21, 2011 for an AICO Trevi Dining Room Table with 10 chairs, china cabinet, sideboard and mirror and was told the furniture was in stock. The sales associate Linda Biggs was who placed my order was professional and helpful. That was the last good experience I had with this company. They guaranteed shipment for Thanksgiving if items were purchased by October 31st. A week before Thanksgiving Day, I received a call from Cindy Wright to tell me that there had been an issue with the order and that it would not arrive in time for Thanksgiving, but probably the first week of December. I spoke to Fred Rose (The President) and Linda on December 2nd and asked if could change style to AICO Oppulente and they agreed and promised a delivery time frame of mid-January. I assumed that they would send me an updated receipt but of course I didn’t receive a receipt. On Christmas Day I received a call from GE Capital Retail Bank stating I was past due. I apply for credit because they offered 6-months with no finance charge. Now keep in mind I did not receive the Dining Room Set but they had automatically charge the credit card for the first order that I did not receive. Things got worse from that point. I continue to receive calls and finally a past due letter from GE with a late fee. To protect my rights and credit I disputed the charge with GE (This is the first time I've never disputed a transaction).I contacted Great Priced Furniture by phone and e-mail on December 27th to cancel the order and requested that I receive a confirmation letter stating order was cancelled. I left several messages for the Cindy Wright (Customer Service Manger) to call me regarding this issue but she never returned phone calls or answers any of my e-mails. Finally on January 3, 2012 I called again and was transfer to Fred who promised that he will process the cancellation and that he will send me confirmation on company header. It’s now January 21st and I have not received the confirmation letter and I still have a balance on the GE account. On January 9th I contacted the company by e-mail asking them to confirm cancellation. Linda the sale associate forward e-mail to Cindy (CSR manager) asking her to confirm request.
I have never filed a complaint but today I’m filing my first complaint with the Better Business Bureau in North Carolina, as this is not a trustworthy company. Please if you considering buying furniture on-line, do not consider Great Priced Furniture! They are the worse on-line company. They have false advertising, the worse customer service department and a President that will give excuses and false promises that he does not keep. I was hesitated doing business with this company and I should have trusted my intuition.

I work for a reputable financial institution and it takes 48-72 hours to process a refund Not weeks!!!"
