harassment
I received a call demanding payment "right now" for a loan I cosigned for back in 2007. I had received no phone calls or letters in regards to any problem with this loan. Upon calling back to get more information, I was directed to the floor supervisor and was hung up on. I called the Florida Bar. I will write again with an update.

It is not illegal to call contacts, place of employment, relatives, neighbors, etc. in the attempt to collect on a legitimate debt.

It is illegal when you do so under false pretenses. Like say the debt is already in collections and being paid by automatic withdrawal and you try to collect to full amount when you have no right to. Also there is the issue of jurisdiction, like when you tell someone you are going to sue them and freeze their account when they don't live in that state. And when there has been no previous communication such as a demand letter or phone call to try to satisfy the loan.
You must work for them olisbos.

And you are obviously an idiot Richard. Nowhere in the OP's complaint did he mention any of those scenarios.
