FRAUD

Fraud, fraud, fraud. As many have commented in this post, I received a 36 euros charge in my credit card for an alleged "Verbal Fine". I complained to my credit card company, and to the global Hertz site. I exchanged around 10 emails with them, it takes ages for them to reply.
They originally claimed this was the fee for them to pass my details to the police of Napoli for a fine I allegedly received. They asked not to question it as the fine will come in the post. Nothing came in the post, and when I phoned the Napoli police they had no record of an incident. At the end, and after I threatened legal action they agreed to refund me.
Now that I saw this post, and other ones, I realised what I felt was the case: they just charge a lot of people this amount, hoping that most will not notice or be too bored to follow up because of the time it takes.
Very poor practive from a global company, I think probably Hertz US does not realise how often Hertz Italia is doing this, bad bad bad, will never rent again from Hertz unless I have no other option.
