RIPOFF! AVOID!

This company is the worst service provider stocked full of liars. I was approached by a saleman at the door promising lower rates plus a the 12th month free if I am a loyal customer for that long. My energy bills doubled when I switched over. I compared these rates with a representative from ConEd and they have definitely been overcharging. My last bill was 23cents/Kw, whereas the other company I spoke to quoted at 15cents/kw. I tried cancelling the service over the phone multiple times to the point where I was calling every day, well within business hours, only to reach the voicemail claiming they would call back within 24 hours. Total BS. I called every business day for about 4 weeks and emailed and never got a reply. I finally had to just call ConEd to cancel it for me and switch my service from their end. AVOID THIS SERVICE AT ALL COSTS!

My bill is so high its unbelievable,pleeeeeeeease some one do something w/this company to get all of us complainants our money back.Where is the government now to protect US, the consumers .

Electrical rates tripled

My electrical rate on Feb bill tripled compared to Nov-Dec bill. There's no justification for that. If energy rates did go up three times indeed, the whole world would have gone bankrupt - I cannot subscribe to their rhetoric about supply/demand in harsh winter months, it's pure BS. Stay away.

I asked to be remove from their services

I asked over 6 months ago to be remove, they removed me 3 months later and then put me back on and over charged me 400.00 in Jan and Feb. I called and again asked to be removed and they said it will take 3 months. GUESS WHAT THEY HAVEN'T REMOVED ME YET. SMH BIG BIG RIP OFF.I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE THEY TO COURT AND GET BACK ALL OF THE MONEY I PAID THEM. THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SMACKED WITH A CLASS ACTION SUIT.

Hiko is robbing all of us

We are in the same boat as all you on here something needs to be done, I did file a report with the public service commission early Feb I was told they would investigate after repeated phone calls I was told the company said it was a variable rate I was scammed over the phone by hiko I was told we would never pay over what nysg was charging I would see at the very least the same but more often then not a savings of 1-7 cents a kilowatt just like most of you have been told the first 3 months bother special an average of 5cents nyseg was charging 5.6 then came oct 15cent compared to nyseg still 5.6 I called and finally got to speck with a supervisor who and I quote said it was human error and was very nice said I would receive a credit and not to worry I would see anything above nyseg`s rates again I could just kick myself for not switching at that point but I believed her a few more bills went by and then 18 cent I called and canceled but told that same supervisor she lied and I want that bill adjusted and she replied we already gave you a one time curtosiy credit REALLY lady you said it was human error I never would have stayed had I been told ok just this once but its possible you will be be getting robbed again. she lied and she knows she did so they stayed on the bill for another month before the cancellation notice went into effect and YOU GOT IT THEY SENT ME OFF WITH A GOING AWAY PRESENT OF 26 CENTS A KILLOWATT THATS RIGHT FOLKS BEND OVER AND GRAB YOUR ANKLES . oh and the public service commission of newYork has requested the phone conversations of our agreement from hiko they haven't responded and it looks like they wil go unpunished Im also being charged 10 late fee every month I don't pay the full bill and I have received final termination notices even though I continue to pay the undisputed amount every month. Im going to continue fighting this they are crooks ,we have rights that need to be protected

Liars, Can't cancel, they don't follow up

First one of the sales person showed up on my door, and told me that they send me a message at the back of my ConEdison bill, for me to confirm with them in order to receive my benefits. Then I looked at my bill, and it said something about New York state renewable energy. He acted as if they are the only New York state energy provider. After I asked millions of times, he changed the statement to : " We are the only New York based energy provider, your delivery charges would be a lot higher if you get it from another state." Through out the whole time, he acted as if he is working for New York State Government. I asked many times, if they are the only company who is New York based, and he kept on saying , " yes" if you don't want to get it from us, you can sign up with New Jersey, when you are eligible for it. While we were having this discussion, 2 other guys showed up on my door. This made me really uncomfortable, since I didn't receive any calls before hand about this visit, and I was in my home clothes. Honestly, when I was opening my door, I thought they came from Con Edison to check the meter, they always come for 1 minute, check it and leave. Then they have me on the phone, to confirm with them, while he was showing me stuff with gestures, while the other ones were watching me, because apperantly they wouldn't be able to confirm over the phone, if they hear him speaking. After I asked many times about their cancellation policy, I was told repeatedly I can cancel at any time after they process it. If I want to cancel before they process it , I would have to call them within 3 days after I sign. I don't sign anything before reading it. Throughout the whole time, when I was reading long paper, that they want me to sign, they kept on talking, and telling me stories in order to confuse me. I warned them couple of times to be quiet, so that I can focus on reading it, but this time they kept on talking among each other. They kept on telling me all of my neighbors have already signed up for the benefits, and they can't believe I haven't done so yet. I finally signed the damn thing, just to get rid of them, after reading that I can cancel within 3 days.
Right after I signed, they rang the door bell of my neighbor. I didn't make a discussion about it, and just closed my door. They are such liars, and they don't know how to stick with their lies either. First he told me my next door neighbor , the upstairs, everybody else signed up for it, and then he rang the door bell of my next door neighbor. I went up to my laptop, typed the company's name, saw lots of complaints about this company, and saw that he and the other 2 guys lied to me repeatedly , when I asked them if they are the only New York based company. They are not the only ones apparently.
I called the company back right away, and told them that I just signed up for this thing and want to cancel it right away. I spoke to Samantha (extension 308), and she told me she can't cancel it right now, since she doesn't have the paper yet, and told me that she will cancel it once she receives the paper that I signed. I asked her repeatedly, how do I know that she will cancel it later. I asked her if she could give me a confirmation. She told me she can't give me a confirmation right now, and after I really insisted, she told me she could call me back within 3 days to let me know that it's cancelled. Then I asked her , how do I know that she would really call me. She told me that, if I want I could also call her back from her extension 308.
Of course, like I guessed she didn't call me within 3 days to confirm, so I call her back, she didn't reply to her extension. I called the regular number and waited for the sales department, and she picked up the phone. There is only one person working I guess on their sales department. I reminded her about our phone call. First she couldn't find my file in the system, and then she said my application is pending. Then I told her I don't have the time , to call them back and forth, to see if they cancelled it or not, and told her that she should call me back once it's processed. This time, she told me, she doesn't do that. I reminded her that she can look back at their company's phone call recordings, when she said clearly that she would call me back, when I called her the first time. I guess the ability of lying is one of the requirements, when they are getting hired for this company. I asked to talked to her supervisor. She had me on hold, and then told me nobody is available to talk to me right now. I asked her how long would I have to wait on hold, in order for the supervisor to talk to me, she replied, it might take a week. I told her that this is ridiculous, and demand that her supervisor call me right away, and gave her my phone number once again, although she has it on my application.
I'm pretty sure that nobody will call me.
DON'T GET INVOLVED WITH THESE PEOPLE, YOU WILL EITHER LOOSE YOUR TIME OR MONEY, OR MOST PROBABLY BOTH! In fact, don't sign anything, for any company shows up on your door, it's so sketchy, and their sales people kept on telling me that the company will call me back within 3 days to ask me one more time, and if I answer one of their questions wrong, these guys might get fired. What kind of pressure is that, these people know my address. This is soooooooo sketchy.

bait and switch

cancelled after having them charge us 15 cents a kilowatt while our normal supplier charges a rte at 6 cents when we opted to go with hiko they said we would never pay anything higher then what our current company was charging in fact many month we would be saving and average of 1-7 cents but never to worry we would not see a higher charge I called got no one for weeks finally spoke to a supervisor she insisted i was aware that they had a variable rate and they do not control the market I never signed anything stating this in fact we never signed anything at all we where called by phone and I asked to hear that verble agreement because thats not what I was told this company has yet to produce that recorded phone conversation on the sale of their services I know why cause that are lying so we cancelled and I disputed that bill but then the didn't get off for another whole month and charges us 25 cents kilowatt CROOKS I cannot afford a 996 dollar bill just to show you how truly evil this company is my bill for that month would have exactly 236.74 from nyseg at 7 cents a kilowatt Someone needs to put these greedy bastards out of business I went to the public commissions office to file but they are not doing anything its been 2 months good luck everyone

Don't be fooled by this scam. HIKO is a disgrace. My 88 yr old mother who is legally blind got tricked into adding HIKO to save money and her bill more than doubled within 2 months. I would love to be a part of a mass law suit. If any attorney is willing to sue HIKO on behalf of all of us who have been tricked and lied to please let's get together and put HIKO out of business. Let s save others the agony of deceit.

HIKO ENERGY IS A SCAM

HIKO ENERGY is an ESCO, which means they are not associated with your regular utility company. They are a third party vendor of electricity and natural gas. That means that they will lie to you and say whatever in order to switch you from your utility company. The truth of the matter is they are always going to be higher than your utility provider and they will always lie to get you to switch so that they can make money. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST OR YOU WILL BE SORRY YOU DIDN'T WHEN YOU GET YOUR BILL!
