Unresolved construction issues
Pretty homes, cheap labor, shoddy workmanship, doubletalk and built by the cheapest contractors. I have experience workmanship with poor materials, bad installs, gaps, roof leaks, and hollow tiles. I have had to wait months to have repairs done while under warranty and you will not get any help right away. Joe Boyden will build your home right away and take your money and ride away into the sunset not to be seen anymore. The warranty staff will set appointments and staff will not show up or call to reschedule. They do not care about you anymore; they have sold the house and receive their money. Staff is very unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. I would not refer family members or friends to buy a house from Joe Boyden Homes. All the neighbors in our area agree too.

Shoddy construction
Homes by Joe Boyden look great but you will be surprised by the terrible construction and completely dismisive attitude in warranty dept. once they have your hard earned money. Boydens crew couldn't fix MULTIPLE leaks throughout new house so they now ignore us when we ask for status on repair. Joe Boyden himself never showed when he said he was personally coming over to look at leaks. We took day off work and called repeatedly for his ETA..got several updates but HE SIMPLY NEVER SHOWED. Today we had to stop installation of laminate flooring upstairs until we hire a contractor to fix the 2 inch gap in subflooring. We are paying to repair shoddy work that went ignored by his builders and was signed off on by someone along the way. You wont find a mess like this until you take out the carpet! Beware of this builder's great design..it does not come with pride of finished product. Shoddy construction happens, but Joe Boyden's lack of professionalism and integrity is jaw dropping. Huge mistake choosing Homes by Joe Boyden. Huge.

Nm home owner
We purchase a pre owned home built buy Joe Boyden homes. The first roof leak was a night mare. One month after in the home. The original owner just covered up the problem with new dry wall and paint prior to selling it. It had to be a ongoing issue from day one. Called the original roofer for repairs (which we got the information from joe boyden warrenty team)at our cost of course for the repair (a roof is only covered for 1 year from date of completion . The repair was as poor quality and craftsmanship one the whole construction. 6 months later another leak on the opposite side of home. Paid a well known roofer big bucks to fix the bad craftsmanship, gaps in the roof, place drain valleys that were never installed and crickets that were never installed. The lining that goes on the plywood before the clay tiles was not installed originally either. Granted the home was 9 years old when we bought it, but a clay tiles roof normally lasts years beyond a shingle roof. The contractor who built our home cut so many corners that the integrity of the roof is compromised. 2 years later we are now trying to pay for repairs on the other side of our home over 1200 sq ft of water damage from water under the tiles and not draining properly the same issue improper drainage has caused the gabels to rott and form mold between the joining wall with a different pinch. We are so disappointed in the quality of our home and are now stuck with a money pit. The other problems are the foundation. We have large cracks in the foundation and the foundation actually cracked in half so bad and shifted that the home has a slope that is 2 and 3 nches lower in the main living area. This was discovered when we replaced the orginal floor covering. So foundation was repaired and very costly as once again the 10 year warranty was 3 months expired. Who would actually have sellers pull floor coverings for foundation inspections? Once again poor quality on the foundation pour. The last thing is the windiw combo has a 1 inch slope and is not square from the foundation slipping. After the next roof repair we we address the door jams which are notlonger square, so the doors will not stay open in the interior of the home. We have no resirces to recoop the expenses for the poor craftsnanship of our home. We are stuck in a piece of shit that is causing us heart ache and undo stress. All I can say is buyer beware.
