Seat assignments with Justfly
Lessons leaned not to book a flight with Justfly
Jan 2018 I was on the Justfly website looking for 2 return tickets from Los Angeles to Heathrow England with British Air.
The British Air round trip ticket prices for 2 people on the Justfly website was cheaper by a couple of hundred dollars than going direct with the airline directly.
I thought I would give Justfly a try and book with them.
I started the Justfly booking proceedings online only to find out that British Air will not let you select your seats.
The British Air seat assignment for the the plane was shown but you could not select the seats through the Justfly website.
I called Justfly and explained the seating plan on the website was not working.
Justfly customer service said do not worry, first of all before I send you the e-mail link that will allow you to select your seats, I need you credit card, then I will e-mail you the seat assignment link.
I thought OK. I also said to the customer service person to stay on the line while I try the e-mail link for the seat assignment.
The e-mail link they sent to me still did not let me select my seats with British Air.
I told the Justfly customer service that I wanted to cancel this booking because I could not select my seats.
It was too late the payment had been made.
Justfly made no attempt to reverse the payment and cancel the booking, It was to late payment had been made.
For 2 people this mistake ended out of pocket expense was $200 to cancel the booking with Justfly and $900 for British Air booking
cancelation fee, the remaining balance I got back through my credit card.
Lessons learned, book directly with the carrier, it may cost a few dollars more, but you do get your seat assignments
I would like to add that the airlines now charge you for seat assignments, I think that's another way the airlines are trying to
increase their profits.
