Shameless Misrepresentation
This company shamelessly sold me 2 paintings that they claimed were created by the very talented Alfredo Zagaceta. I bought these more than two years ago not knowing very much about the artist at the time.
When I initially received the paintings, I was extremely disappointed with their condition. The frames and back of the paintings were severely water damaged upon inspection. This was never disclosed in the description.
But this wasn't even the worst of it- not by a long shot.
I had these paintings stored for some time and will admit that not knowing much about the artist at the time, didn't do my due diligence and carefully compare signatures.
I just got them out of storage recently and started looking at Zagaceta paintings to compare. Something fishy was going on. The signatures did not match at all.
I then reached out to Mr. Zagaceta himself and asked if they were his, perhaps his earlier works before he really adopted his current signature?
He responded rather quickly and said that he was sorry, but they were not his and asked where I purchased them.
The most infuriating thing of all is the fact that when I reached out about their misrepresentation on their Facebook page, they deleted my comment!
NEVER do business with these scam artists. I am out over 400.00 for two water damaged paintings and no idea who even created them. Very dishonest company. I take some responsibility for not doing my homework first, but these kind of unscrupulous business practices are just plain wrong. Others need to be warned. Buyer beware!
