A nightmare to deal with.

This is the third-party bendor that two of the medicaid managed care organizations use in New Mexico. They are a pure nightmare. I work with pediatric patients and they are wholly unreliable and inconsistent. In one recent example, I tried to get a pediatric patient home. SHe lives quite some distance away (200 mi) and her family has no transportation. It took 3 hours of phone calls to nail down a time that her parent would be picked up (5:30 am) . Her parent was, in fact, picked up at 10:40 am. No reason, just the way it was. I had to reschedule their trip back twice due to this, and the last time I was told they could not accomodate this. I told them, you better accomodate this. This is a child who needs to go home. They finally did it. about 4-5 hours of my day spent on travel arrangements for 1 patient, and I have 7 more on a daily basis to work with. They are less than worthless. I'm going to be really lobbying hard for the MCOs to drop them.
