Bad Holiday experience
I would highly recommend anyone for a holiday experience of a life time at Mabaso lodge. The facilities, entertainment and accommodation was outstanding!! I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Mabaso lodge for an experience of a life time, my expectations was exceeded by far and I cannot wait to return to Mabaso lodge for my next holiday. See you soon!!! 10/10

Well - I will NOT recommend Mabaso Lodge to anyone who wants to experience a fantastic holiday. What do you mean by facilities and entertainment? Facilities are non-existent and entertainment - u r most probably referring to the braai’s?) If by some chance a miracle took place since December 2010, you may say that the accommodation was outstanding! Your expectations and my expectations are obviously worlds apart. But still glad you enjoyed to so much!

Your opinion has been noted, but this is Sodwana we are talking about if you wish to have 5 star accommodation then Sodwana is definitely not the place to go! We had everything we needed and more. It is so affordable, I think it costed us less than R100 a day per person, I mean come on that is camping rates! In my opinion Mabaso Lodge will definitely see me again, I felt so at home there and the Lodge staff and attitude off the staff was fantastic. Perhaps you are correct in saying our expectations are worlds apart, I suppose it all depends on what one expects from a holiday, is it that one is willing to dig deep into the pocket and pay for the same sort of luxury that one has at home or is it that one wants to get away from it all to a nice quite place with all the essentials that one needs and in my mind Mabaso Lodge is exactly that getaway destination, even the kids enjoyed it so much that we want to plan our next trip for March.

We had a wonderful stay at Mabaso Lodge. I can only compliment Johan and his team for the outstanding accommodation, facilities and security! We will see you guys soon!

Mabaso "lodge"
When we booked, we spesifically asked Tamy to send us pictures of the accomodation. She then lied to us by saying that they have "upgraded" the resort. When we arrived there, this was obviously not the case. Chalets were leaking, braai areas were filthy and in a terrible state. This is clearly a marketing ploy by Johan, but we want to warn the public out there to rather book somewhere else as this place is in a VERY bad shape! He took money from us but never delivered and when we tried to negotiate with them regarding the outstanding balance, we were treated like crap! STAY AWAY!!!!!!

Mabaso Lodge is NOT up to standard. After we decided to leave this place, we by accident came across a lodge next door and the standard was a 1000 times higher than Mabaso lodge. We were charged the same amount as Mabaso, but the chalets were clean and maintained. Johan and his family almost destroyed our December vacation, but did not succeed. There are other lovely places in the area, but PLEASE stay away from this hell hole!!!

Unfortunately this is personal. The man took our money and did not deliver on his services advertised. I phoned Johan after we decided that we can not stay there any more. That was after the numerous problems and excuses. I was decent with the man and explained that this transaction is not working out. We will leave and we can compromise on the refund. The bottom line is that if I can not deliver, no matter what the circumstances are, I need to refund the guests. It is the right thing to do. He did not and blamed us for leaving! It is my duty to warn the public of transactions like this, because Johan and his dedicated family almost ruined our vacation. This Lodge needs to be exposed! If I can prevent one more family of going there, I would be satisfied. I did try and go the legal way, but Johan knows that it is not possible, because of the admin involved due to the area he is in. My attorney did try on numerous occasions to get hold of him, but he just ignored our requests as was the case when we complained. Sorry, but this is not a place to go on holiday to, even for Sodwana!!

Sorry guys I strongly disagree, I am starting to wonder if this is not a personal issue? But hey it’s just my opinion, I must say before I went to Mabaso Lodge I did read the negative report from "Megaclair" but decided to give it a try and I am very pleased that I did!! It was the best holiday ever!!! and I will definitely be returning to Mabaso lodge. Why is it that people find satisfaction in running down other people and establishments? I can understand that clearly you guys were not completely satisfied with your stay but why do this kind of damage to someone, what benefit is there to you, come on guys we all had some bad experience before in life but there is no need to try and ruin people with such negativity, If I took the negative reports to heart I would have missed out on the best holiday ever, why don’t we give the Lodge a fair chance as these reports were filed in 2010 and we were there in December 2011 and it was great, I am not saying that you guys should book there again, but why run them down like this?

Who would praise a business on a website dedicated almost entirely to complaints, the entire purpose of the site being to express and perhaps resolve BAD customer experiences?
