DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM
When reading their FaceBook page all these people mentioned these amazing things about them and their employees. Where were these kind people the last 2.5 years I've dealt with them? Did I get the new hires or the redheaded stepchildren kept in the basement of MarketPlace?! Anyway, on to this rant I hope you read from start to finish! I attempted to post this on their FB but they won't allow it. Hence why their most recent "like" is over 2 years old. Oh MarketPlace, where do I begin. First off, if you're curious about their customer service, I should warn you, they have none. Since dealing with MarketPlace 2 years ago, I've had nothing but grief. Most rental institutions request you to pay on the first of the month. NOT MARKETPLACE! The 25th is when they want your funds, how do they get said funds, only one way, ACH withdrawal. No money order, no online option to pay your rent via debit card. I tried calling once a month to process my debit card for payment, they stopped answering my calls and allowing that. So I paid for a year with certified FedEx money orders, they just stopped that. They'll tell you and even take your money as they did with me that they can change your due date but never will. Still waiting on that change Katie Featherston. MarketPlace owes me over $350 in ACH fees that even the CEO agreed needed to be refunded. Haven't gotten that back yet either, you listening in the back Ms. Bell? The CEO Mike Kalis, nice guy, but poor follow through on promises and ensuring poorly handled cases when presented to him are fixed. If you ever have the misfortune of having to interact with Emily Bell, pray to baby Jesus, rub Buddha's belly, take a shot of whiskey and have patience with that woman's attitude and short ended answers. Bless her heart she must be going through something awful to have to be bitter towards her customers. Which brings me to my next point, your customers, how can you treat your customers so poorly, never once work with them on what you agree to? Bottom line, there are HUNDREDS of other property management companies out there who know how to operate. Who treat their customers with respect, follow through with their written agreed upon issues. You can do better than MarketPlace. But if you're a glutton for punishment, this is the place for you! That's my rant. I'll get off my soapbox now.
