Mastercraft - Poor Quality materials
My daughter bought a Mastercraft exterior door with window. After installation the door looked and operated well. But within 2 months the plastic trim around the exterior window started to deform and pull away from the door. See pictures
I called customer service and informed them of the problem. I also explained to them that the plastic trim was most likely deforming because of the heat that builds up between the screen/glass door and the Mastercraft door. They offered to send me a replacement window. I asked if this was going to fix the problem because the plastic trim was of poor quality for this application and would it do it again. They said it was a manufacturing defect and this would fix the problem.
After receiving the new window, again painting the cheap looking plastic trim and installing the window it only lasted 1 month before it started to deform. And that was during the winter! A door like this should be designed to withstand a normal application. (With screen door)
It amazes me that a company can sell a product like this.

I love this door
I see a lot of negative reviews here but our experience was pretty good. The only issue I had was that they supplied the wrong size plugs for the inside trim screw holes and that the replacements were a little fiddly to get in the holes (and I agree that their customer service interface is pretty much non-existent). Other than that we were really pleased with the result (see photo). Note that we did hire our own installation contractor. Mechanically everything seems fine. The house faces south and the door permits a lot of sunlight into what would otherwise be a fairly dark entry way. The photo shows a fiberglass door & sidelights with the Aurora glass option. Again, really pleased with the result.
