Sent me a telephone bill, but I am not their customer
Netone has charged my credit card account $162.52 without obtaining my consent. When I called, I was told that the person who effected that transaction was fired. This is not a solution. Now, I have to cancel my credit card and put up with the inconvenience. I believe the regulatory agency should penalize such company. We as citizens pay lot of taxes to the government and as such its oversight agencies should protect us. During the same period another company by the name Bright Star charged my credit card $54.00. Again without obtaining my consent.
I strongly believe the FCC should intervene and ;punish such companies to fullest extent of the law. I am sure there are many victims like me. Shalan

Sent me a telephone bill, but I am not their customer
I called Net One International to dispute a regulatory cost recovery fee. I was told if my usage statement was less than $10.00 then the regulatory fee doesn't apply and can be removed, but this fee can only be removed if I call and ask to remove it which is very inconvenient and a scam in my opinion. Hence, I asked the representative to remove the $3.49 charges and he said he'll remove it and send me a new statement with the new adjustment for the month of September. Since then I never received any statement. Instead, on 11/28/11 I received statement with 2 late fees for not paying the September bill which I disputed the regulatory fee, which also I've been waiting for to receive with the new adjustment so I can pay it. I called and spoke to all kind of incompetent representatives over the course of 2 months disputing these charges, but they were no help at all. Instead, they kept sending me statements with late fees, approx. 8 late fees of $10 so far, which shows the company is conducting a fraudulent service to make a profit. This company should be investigated for their fraudulent service. They still send me late fees and so far they have charged me with $80.00 of late fees for a $15.00 bill that I offered to pay, without any late fees due to their incompetency.

NetOne International is billing customers fraudulently after they have cancelled their accounts (in 2017)
I used the NetOne long distance service for a few years and attempted to cancel my service a couple of years ago. They refused to cancel. They said just give us one more chance, but would not cancel after I insisted repeatedly that they do so. I didn't understand then that my headache with this company was just beginning.
A few months later, I called Verizon and had them remove NetOne International as my long distance provider. I then called NetOne and told them about this and that I was cancelling the account. I was told that there would be a final bill and that after I paid it, I would be all paid up and that would be the end of it. I did receive the bill and paid it. Unfortunately the monthly bills continued to arrive for the next 6 months. After each of the first three months I called and told them that I had cancelled the service and they removed the amount due and said that should be the end of it. But it didn't end. I was billed each month. After the third month I was given a cancellation confirmation number and was told that if I received any further bills from NetOne, I should just ignore them. I received a few more bills and I ignored them.
The bills stopped coming, and I thought they might have finally given up, but about 6 months after the bills stopped I received a call from a company claiming to be a collection agency working on behalf of NetOne to collect an amount (under $100 - due to late penalties) that they said I owed. I asked them for the name of their collection agency. They said they wouldn't give it to me and that they didn't need to. I told them that if that was the case then they were committing fraud just like NetOne.
After receiving that call I filed complaints with the FCC and with the Attorney General. I was not a party to the FCC action against NetOne. They were charged a $1.6 million dollar fine for "cramming" (fraudulently billing customers after they have cancelled their accounts). This is well documented on the FCC website. I have no doubt that NetOne is guilty of this because they are still doing it. They apparently didn't even pay the fine.
A month later I got a call from NetOne. I let him know what I thought of his company, before he could even tell me why he was calling. He said that he wasn't trying to collect anything he was just trying to win me back as a customer. I told him that would never happen. A month later I received another call in which the NetOne representative said I owed them an amount of money (mainly due to late fees). He tried to get me to give him my credit card information, but I didn't.
Anyone considering using NetOne for their phone service should run in the other direction. They are not a legitimate business.
