Do not fall for their schemes!
I had a debt to cap. one I didn't pay due to, well life really. I am trying to get things in order so I can feel like I am building a future that I can look towards and feel confident. Northland Group didn't have my phone number but I got a lot of letters that I stuck in the junk drawer to deal with later. Now is later and my money situation isn't wonderful but I'm getting better about saving the little I can and feeling good about it. I called the 4 creditors on the debts I had and yes some were several years old but they were still mine to pay. After settling my debt with northland, originally with cap. one from $1300 to $700 I received a letter showing the account resolved which also appeared on my credit report. It is possible that many of the posts on this board are from people who don't owe money and need to take legal action. For those who know they owe the debt from however long ago then get angry when the collectors call must have heavy hearts. I know I did even though it's easy to ignore when it's just on a credit report that is already bad. Paying off debt when money is tight is really hard but believe me, it's a huge weight lifted when you can put your mistakes to bed by working towards fixing them. To the man who made the hundreds of phone calls to the employee, he could have called the police on you and instead he tried to help you when you were behaving like an angry 15 year old. It will be an amazing world when we as Americans become the people we were meant to be. We used to be a lighthouse for the world and now look at as. Read these post and see what I mean. Northland is trying to collect debts. It isn't their fault we made them and defaulted.

LETTER OF PAST DUE ACCOUNT
You need to send them A letter telling them to stop contacting you immediately, and that they have 30 days to send you proof of this debt.in writing. Also tell them not to contact any of your family. This happened to me, and it was bogus. They put their legal dept on the phone trying to intimidate me. I asked them for their fax number, or you can find it on written correspondence, and I faxed them the letter. I found a legal example online. Needless to say I never heard from them again. Dont tell them you are doing this, just do it. Tell them all future correspondence needs to be through the mail, in writing. They will leave you alone after that.

They have started to cheat people
I have been a loyal customer, and i liked their service for a long time. But now they are not adding the sum that I pay each month to my history, they simply take the money for themselves and make it look like i ain’t paying anything at all! Scam!

Northland Group Inc. is a fraud
Beware of Northland Group Inc.! These guys are fraudsters, they are scamming innocent people! They are claiming I owe them $1295 despite the fact that I have never heard of these guys! This is clearly a scam, never give them any money! These guys must be shut down.
