insurance company purchase
In March I rented a car for my 2 month stay in Costa Rica from 5 June to 2 August 2017. I opted not to purchase at the time I reserved because my credit card company provides the insurance for me. Upon my arrival in San Jose, I went to the payless desk and they took us to a shuttle van and transported us o the Payless office once we arrived, I presented the girl at the counter with my license, passport, reservation papers and proof of insurance. That's when I started thinking I should have stayed in Orlando!!! Payless would not accept my insurance documents so I would have to give them a $3000.00 deposit for insurance plus I would have to pay $2000.00 for the insurance for the 2 months. I chose not to accept the car and spent $150.00 to take a taxi to Parrita. Adobe car rental in Quepos accepted my insurance and I got to keep my $5000.00! I had suspended my cell service before leaving the country so I had no way to contact JUSTFLY until my return to the states on 2 August. So on 4 August, I called Justfly to request a refund for the money that they had taken out of my account in March, but now Justfly informs me, they will send me papers to complete to request an investigation into why Payless would not accept my insurance and if I did not have the mandatory insurance, then I will NOT get my refund. Oh Yeah! I wouldn't have to do the investigationif it was within 60 days but because it has been so long, they need the investigation. News Flash JUSTFLY, 5 June to 4 August is 60 days!!!!!. My suggestions are, don't rent a car from Payless unless you want to buy and insurance company, and "just Fly" as far away from JUSTFLY as you can before they empty your wallet!!!
