Locked in contract made by a phone call.
I received a call from Prime Time Readers in July of 2013. I was really cut off guard because I was in a hurry, in the middle of errands when the call came through. I was willing to pay for up to a year but didn't realize the contract was for 4 years. In fact, I don't believe they mentioned a 4 yr contract to me. Right away I received all these magazines on a monthly basis and I seriously don't remember asking for 3 of them. I called and asked to cancel after July of 2014. The representative I spoke to seemed arrogant in her response. She told me I agreed to their terms and they supply me with mags for a lower fee than the price other companies sell on the market. She mentioned how their company goes out of their way to give their customers a lesser price range to purchase the mags. However, she never said I couldn't cancel.
I then, started receiving calls daily asking for one payment I forgot to pay. I paid it with the late fee they charged.
After making the payment I received another call from a rep wanting to negotiate my contract by switching or exchanging the mags I had purchased. It would have been fine if it lowered my payments, but instead they were $10.00 more. The amount they asked for, I felt, was rediculous. I simply cannot afford what they want me to pay another year. If you get a call from them please hang up!

Non-existent contract w/ Primetime Readers Service costs $480/year
The almost exact same thing happened to (and is still happening now) to my mother. They claim on the telephone that she signed a contract-only we don't have any contract, nor does she remember signing one. And this absurd fee of $39.90 they automatically deduct from my mom's checking account EVERY MONTH...I just calculated adds up to $480 per year. That's for their 'service' of providing their customers with locked in lower magazine rates--OH MY GOD!!! Even if we paid for a regular magazine subscription of around $20 for a year times 7 magazines (what their company says you get) $20 times 7 magazines is only $140 per year. And most of the magazines they offer can be subscribed to for $10 or so...I'm sure this company prays on the elderly and people who are distracted or sound like they're in a hurry and aren't really paying attention to what they're agreeing to. What to do now?! The next payment is due and I'm pissed at someone taking advantage of a family member like this. $480 a year is a lot of money in my house.

Predatory Practices
They called one day and got me to agree to magazine subscriptions under a sweepstakes. After one or two weeks I decided I didn't want the service anymore. These people don't care about all that. They just care about your initial agreement to pay them for the magazines. The initial agreement is for several years’ worth of magazines and you cannot get out of it. They will say they already contacted the magazine providers and there is nothing they can do to cancel. On top of that, they are extremely rude when you say you do not want the service anymore. THEY ARE PREDATORS! I will be posting this review of this company anywhere I can in order to dissuade as many people from signing up with this terrible company. I would rather pay someone money to not sign up with this company. As a matter of fact, I could start an entire campaign against this company with all the money they have swindled out of me. ...hundreds of dollars...

This company sucks
Trying to cancel I went as far as canceling my credit card !
Now I am getting calls from accounting! Once soon a time they said they were taking money off a credit card that wasn’t mine sure hope they were not taking out of somebody else’s account?? Think that is illegal! Not sure what will happen next fingers crossed that I am done with them!
