Future buyers from this company BEWARE!!!...
I bought a camera from them Feb 5, said to be shipped between 7-9 days. Two days later I received a call from one of the customer representative to call them back, regarding my recent order. I called back, and it took some 26 minutes listening to music before finally someone answers the phone, and it was not the person I was looking for, who left a message on my regarding my order. After another good 11 minutes, I was finally got hold of the person that I wanted to talk to, and guess what;
The rep just wanted to talk to me so that the rep can make more offer regarding accessories to the camera. As I said, that I am not interested since I already have the accessories from previous model, and I am buying the upgraded model for my business use. Well, I was informed that, the new model's specs will not fit the replaced model. As I informed him that I am not new to photography business, and I know what I am buying, I was further informed by the rep that: well, you will still new batteries since the battery the manufacturer boxed with will only last around 20 minutes. As I further explained to him that I have already researched the camera I am buying, and it did not state that the battery it came with will only last that long, and photographyblog.com, cnet.com reviews it did not says so..I was cut off by this rep telling me, well they lied to the consumers then...and he further state that I have to buy the battery since the manufacturer now offers discounts. As I have said for three times already that I am not interested in buying additional items, he further told that I will regret not to buy the battery from them since it is costly from other sources.
I finally told him that I need to talk to the store manager or whoever is his Supervisor; I was told by him to hold on, and some background noise; after that w quick beep, and another beep, then a dial tone.
I called back, and again, it was a digitized to hold on, for another 22 minutes, and another beep, then a dial tone. I was frustrated, and felt left in limbo. Two days later I called in since I received a notification in my e-mail regarding my recent purchase. I called back the same 1-800-571-2717 number; again I was on hold , listening to music, this time longer-47 minutes!.
I was informed by a customer rep (not the one I talked to two days earlier, but I did ask for him, said he was already out for lunch), that the camera I ordered was out of stock, and will be available in 5 days due to backordered from Japan, and I will be informed via e-mail for its availability. Mid- February, I received an updated via my e-mail, and I was informed that the Camera was further back-ordered and once again, will be informed via phone call and e-mail- I said OK, just keep me posted.
Guess what, Its MARCH 1st now, Gov't Sequestrations started already, and so far I HAVE NOT RECEIVED my camera!...Its only a Canon T4i!!!!! I called today, and after 32 minutes of listening to that dredead music, I quit.
My patience was running thin now, I guess that 7-9 days is actually 7X9... So, future buyers, BEWARE. my next step is to contact Consumer Affairs Office.
