Double charged and cancellation isn't credited
I booked a hotel room through Expedia, and they have an "affiliate" called Reservation Counter. I was double-charged immediately for the hotel room. I cancelled my reservation online and have a valid cancellation number, but Expedia says I must work with Reservation Counter, while Reservation Counter says I must work with Expedia. The hotel says I must work with Expedia. Basically, all three companies are pointing fingers at one another, and conveniently, keeping my money. I've reported all three to my credit card company for fraud and I will trust my credit card company to work this out. Bottom line: DO NOT book travel with Expedia or Reservation Counter! This is a scam which is almost impossible to resolve, and they will lie and tie up your money f.o.r.e.v.e.r.

Scam
This company is a scam. I thought I was booking through Quality Inn online and this company, Reservation Counter.com immediately charged my credit card and now tells me they cannot get it off the credit card for 3 to 7 business days. I had immediately cancelled the reservation within minutes of making it. I spoke to several people who were East Indian and one was a supervisor - I informed them they were on the internet as being a scam operation and they had no response. I want this place putr out of business.

DECEPTIVE
BEWARE! Incredibly deceptive 3rd party taking reservations for hotels...one room at a time. The sales rep. only gave me a total for one of the two rooms I was inquiring about. After I realized that I had only been given the total for ONE room, I told the agent to CANCEL all my arrangements. I needed to discuss money with the people I was traveling with. I later checked my email to find that the agent never cancelled the reservation she began for the one room. When I called (2 hours later) to make sure the reservation was indeed cancelled, I was told that they confirmed that one room and I would be charged a cancellation fee if I didn't want that room held. The agent never cancelled out my room as I asked her to do, and she so willingly suggested she was going to do. This company ROBS people. I am still looking into this case. They charged me $166.00+ for a mistake THEY made. I am furious! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

Crooked & Dishonest
4/18: Made reservation with agent of Reservation Counter (I did not realize it was not Hilton) for Hilton Garden Inn in Appleton, WI for September 20, 2019. While reviewing the terms of the reservation, ($1000+) agent told me that reservation was non-refundable - I immediately asked that it be cancelled because it was billable immediately and I need to confirm with the client. Agent said she could not cancel because it was non-refundable. I asked to speak with supervisor, 'Christian', who told me it was policy to never to refund a non-refundable. I told him that I asked for cancellation within seconds of making the reservation. He refused.
The email confirmation states "Each room in this reservation is subject to the hotel's cancellation policy which is: This reservation is non-refundable". I called the Hilton Garden Inn and they said they had no such policy and to inform Reservation Counter that they have given authorization to cancel. Again on phone with 'Christian' and he refused.
No wonder there are so many complaints about Reservation Counter.

Stay away
Stay away from Reservation Counter when booking hotels. Their advertisement is flawed and they will take advantage of the small print in their web site. They claim their cancellation policy is identical to the hotel property policy when in fact that is not true. They have their own cancellation policy of one night written among the small print along with instructions in their website. Its confusing and its a scam. They also charge your credit card ahead of arrival. No need for this service unless you want to give your away your money. Do not provide your credit card.
