Taking advantage of a bad situation
We live an hour away from Toronto in Canada and my wife was in Toronto with my son for a tournament. A snow storm came in making it impossible to drive home. She frantically tried to find a room as they were going fast. After accidentally calling reservations.com and thinking she was talking to the hotel staff (strike one - misrepresenting yourself), she booked a room for a pricey $179. Reservations.com did not tell her this booking was in US funds and would not let her cancel if she found something else (strike two). Upon receiving the Mastercard statement I called to complain. All I'm looking for is a refund of the difference ($50 Canadian), but they refuse (strike three). When faced with a life challenge you do your best to make the best of it. It saddens me that companies like reservations.com are around to kick you while you're down.

UNETHICAL
BOOKED A ROOM IN BOSTON FROM A SITE THAT WAS IDENTICAL TO THE MARRIOTT HOTEL. I EVEN ASKED IF IT WAS THE MARRIOTT AND THEY SAID YES. THEY TOLD ME ONE ROOM LEFT FOR 3 NIGHTS FOR AN AVERAGE PRICE OF $144.00 WITH AAA-- which was all lies..... when I went to get my marriott points they told me it was booked at reservations.com who spend thousands of dollars mimicking their website. They swap out phone number and put reservations.com instead. The bill says $190 us per night plus handling fees. The hotel was also not sold out.... there were many vacancies so the man on the phone was lying through his teeth. I will be demanding a refund for the difference and requesting that Marriott do something about this practice of scammining people. Marriott should not be selling them rooms as well.

DISCEPTIVE
I have also had a horrible experience with Reservations.com. I pulled up the hotel I wanted to book and reserved the room and then found out when reserving I was dealing with Reservations.com and that it was non-refundable. Never in my life have I paid for a room before staying at it. I tried talking to 2different people from this company to no avail. I am sick about this because I don't want to lose this money just in case something happens and we are not able to go. What a rip-off. Not done fighting yet!!
