Bait and Switch Phone Promotion

Samsung has a promotion for their new S21 series phones. You can trade in your phone and get credit thereby reducing the price. I went to eh site and the order page. The price that I had read on several websites was $199 after the full value trade-in (which my old phone qualified for). On the site, the S2 5g was listed at $199 with my trade0in. Good deal. I filled t the page as instructed and placed the order. When I got my invoice, Samsung had changed the price from $199 to $249!

My first inclination was to cancel the order but even with the extra $150 it is still an ok deal. However, I went to the support site and figured that they would change to the price that was advertised.

I was wrong.

Apparently this is a standard practice now, They advertise one price the hit you with a higher price when it is billed. NOTE this does not reflect any discounts it is pure cost that Samsung has billed me for the phone.

Beware the bait and switch scam that Samsung is running on their S21 phones!
