Refrigerators are made cheaply( along with many products) so consumers must purchase a new one much sooner than they should need to in order keep the company's quarterly reports showing high profits. In the past, appliances could last 20 years or more.
So, after many products, including Kenmore, I tried to go back to basics. Today's plastics are weak and crack leading to increased damage. I ordered wire shelves. Model 253 60412415. Manufacture date 8/16. Well, twice the refrigerator that was delivered was damaged. Within the first year, the seals on freezer and refrigerator started to come loose.Then the whole fridge shut down. Lost all food in that section To get a repairman I had to wait about a month. Meaning, living without refrigeration for a month. The repairman came and did an excellent job. Replaced the seals maybe 2-3 months ago along with central board(?).
Now here we go, seals pulling off again, food not frozen, water dripping from the freezer. Also vegetable bin plastic has a crack. Let me be clear, this is not from abuse.
