They are still stealing money Feb 2013
My husband and I feel quite duped by this company.
I have contacted them today to find out why they are taking money from our account without our knowledge and a very rude Swiss man told me that its because my husband bought me some lingerie from Figleaves.co.uk.
He basically said my husband had agreed to join their scheme and should have read the small print!
My husband remembers seeing something about saving money on future purchases from Figleaves, when he was paying, (back in December) ticking a box and being directed to another page to answer more questions, and deciding he didn't like the look of it, so abandoning the idea.
According to the somewhat rude Swiss man who answered the phone at Shopperdisc, my husband didn't untick the box, and thats all it took for them to dip their hands into our bank account every month since.
I have demanded a full refund of our money, as I explained we feel they have taken money without our knowing permission.
Apparantly because my husband hasn't used the service, he is able to refund us within 5 working days.
Well maybe he hasn't used it because he had no idea he had signed up to it anyway !!?
I have researched Shopperdisc and found many many complaints about them doing this to other people, it seems big companies like Figleaves, Interflora and Ryanair are knowingly allowing them to dupe their customers.
I for one will be avoiding their sites from now on as I do not feel they can be trusted.
I was also disgusted with the response I received when I called Shopperdisc themselves, the telephonist was quite rude to me, talking over the top of me and basically saying its all our fault and we should have read the terms and conditions....
the terms and conditions to WHAT?
As far as my husband was concerned he had agreed to nothing!
I think its pretty disgraceful Shopperdisc are continuing to get away with this, when they are being repeatedly told by customers like me that it is not at all clear when you tick the option to save money on future purchases, that you are in fact signing up to a scheme where they can take your money every month to get discounts on other things.
Shopperdisc know full well it's not clear, that's how they get your money, hoping you simply will not notice them helping themselves to your money every month.
Disgraceful.
