I lived with Simon in 2012 and always found him to be fair. I think he was a good bloke and he retained my bond within a few days. I know or a couple of people who didn't get the bonds back. But when if you sign a 12 months contract you do owe him rent for 12 months, even if you move out after 8 months (like one girl did I lived with). Cool house and good place to live.

AVOID THIS MAN
Not one person working for this company had any experience in web design or development before starting there. In fact, nobody knows how to code, apart from the very basics.
This company claims to design and develop bespoke websites and they also claim to complete all work in house... When in reality, 95% of the work gets outsourced to places such as India and Pakistan via Upwork. Other work such as logo design/business card design etc are done on sites such as Canva.com for free, anyone can do it. I have proof of this. Save your money and don't get sucked in by the fake reviews on the likes of Web Design Review, another site of his designed very cleverly, ensuring all of his companies are ratest highest, meaning a win win situation for him as clients will request quotes from his companies only.
Other companies that Simon Macbeth runs from an office in his home (not London/Manchester etc as he'd lead you to believe...)
- Red Cloud Agency (London) - Was Web Design Room, this changed last year due to the amount of bad reviews online.
- Roundhay Web Design (Leeds) - Was 121 Web Design, changed due to bad reviews online...
- Design With Style (Cambridge)
- Go Spider (Manchester)
- Webo (this agency quotes much higher than the rest, pushing people towards the lower priced agencies...)
- Mersey Web Design (same as above)
Anyway, here's how it works:
1. Client orders and makes first payment.
2. A suitable template is sourced for the website and then 'wireframes' are made from the template for the client to choose from.
3. When client has chosen wireframe, work then gets started on creating job sheets to be sent on Upwork. Typically, the first job sheet costs the most - $100 infact. Then, every job sheet after that is around $50...
4. If a client wants changes that aren't included in the PDQ, expect an astronomical charge. Usually around £550 + VAT. Which is crazy considering most of these simple changes don't take long at all - most of the time its a job sheet sent to Upwork for them to do!
