Scamming college students
STS Travel takes advantage of college students who are inexperienced at knowing the difference as to what their rights are. On a recent trip to Punta Cana, the hotel was changed with a group of about 40 students shortly before the date of departure. The hotel was a filthy dump with cockroaches running around, inedible food, and staff who was stealing from the students rooms. 20% of the kids got food poisoning from eating the food served. "All- inclusive" was a joke, and the alcoholic drinks had practically no alcohol in them. The casino, as advertised, was non-existent.
Worst of all, this travel agency prays on kids who don't know how to fight back. STS Travel should be shut down.

Scamming college students
Ripped us off, shifted us from a nice hotel in a good area in cancun to a worse hotel in a very bad location for same price, said that at least they give us all inclusive for a cheaper additional payment than normal! lied about everything, upgrading to all inclusive would have been even cheaper when all single days booked at hotel, do not use this travel agency!!!! NEVERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOTAL RIP OFF
Went on an "all-inclusive" vacation. Was overcharged for the room and they refused to rufund the overage. Was one bed short as a result and one person had to sleep on the floor. The food was terrible and you could not get served a drink unless you tipped more than the drink would have cost. DON'T BOOK WITH THEM. They are scam artists.

COMPLETE RIP OFF
While STS travel may not look like complete scam like some of the other college travel company's, they will drain you for all of your money. From day one I was lied to, the company switched my group rep FOUR times so nobody understood anything about my group, they told me the day before all of the money was due that the girl who planned the trip with me owed 1500 dollars on her trip because they were revoking her free trip after the first person I worked with told me she would be fine no matter what. Now its less than a month before my group of 20 goes to Cancun and STS is telling me (they weren't even going to flat out tell me, I had to ask because i heard from someone else who traveled with them) that my group is about to have to pay 200+ dollars more in fees! My once 1500 dollar week long trip to cancun is now 2,100 dollars a person. Would have much rather booked the trip myself without a travel company. Think twice before using STS travel.

DO NOT USE THIS TRAVEL COMPANY
A group of friends and I recently booked a spring break trip to Cancun using STS. From the second we landed we had nothing but issues. When we went to check in, the staff told us there were no rooms even though we had booked our trip in September. We then got relocated to a different hotel that was all families...we were a bunch of college kids on spring break having to stay in a family hotel. The reps were never on site to answer our questions or talk to us about the inconvenience. They didn't pay for our transportation from the second hotel to our original location. Our taxi to the airport was late and one again no reps there to provide us with information. Other travel companies ended up helping us because they were there 24/7. We chose this company because it was the least exoensive option. However, after dealing with the rude people working for this company I would have paid hundreds more to have gone with a different travel company. For any student looking to book a spring break trip DO NOT USE STS. Splurge a little and go with student city or go blue tours.

Response to reviews
My name is Jake Jacobsen, Vice President of STS Travel. I would like to respond to the following reviews on this web site. We have been in business since 1984 and have organized travel packages for over 700,000 tour participants. Our goal is to provide the best travel experience possible. However, sometimes things happen beyond our control. In those situations we will do everything in our power to make the situation right. As for the reviews, I will address each one individually.
Finnegand and Mickeson appear to be false reviews or put up by our competitor. We have never moved any rooms in Punta Cana. Pkov also looks like it was put up by a competitor. With that compliant, I would like to add that if you are staying in a resort on the peak week of Spring Break, it is going to be crowded with college students. Because of the high volume of drinking, the bars at popular resorts can get backed up and many people tip to get faster access to drinks. When this happens, bartenders start looking for patrons that tip. If you are traveling during peak weeks of spring break, it is going to be crowded everywhere you go.
Angrychels is a situation where roommates backed out of her trip. We never increased the trip with fees. The cost of the room went up as there were less people in the room. All prices are upfront on our website with regards to room occupancy.
Cipach travelled to the Oasis Cancun. We had a block of 150 rooms and on the day of arrival, the oasis told us they were moving 11 rooms for 2 nights to the 4 1/2 star "Royal Caribbean", located just 2 resorts away from the Oasis. The Oasis provided wristbands for the all inclusive plan at both resorts. In addition, The Oasis provided a free return visit for the full time of their original trip. All rooms were back at Oasis within two days.
I hope this helps explain some of these situations. We are always available in our office to assist and we hope to provide the best customer service. Please feel free to contact us at 800-648-4849 if you have any questions or concerns.
