They said it like it is ... Same way in Goldcoaster In Florida City ... check the backrounds of the employees.

I agree with the complaints about Sun Communities. They are horrible and don't care about anyone! They have nothing better to do than raise the rent every year in a bad economy. I want them to show the residents the justification behind the rent increase. Do something about the people driving too fast in the park. ( This includes the mail person delivery drivers even the manager and snow plow driver!)

Sheffield Estates in Auburn Hills MI is a terrible place to live. Sun Communities raises the rent every year, unfair and too many unnecessary rule violations are given out. Do park managers have to write out so many to make corporate happy? The roads are not well plowed ever since Sun Communities took over. A lot of homes for sale and/ or moved out in the past few years. Residents are getting sick of this park and learning the grass is really greener on the other side!

Highpoint in Delaware is no better. We have a manager who doesn't care about anything but her pay check! Like all others rent is raise each year and the services go down. Thank God we had a mild winter because NO ONE here knows how to plow! They can't even cut the grass or pick up leaves! And try to get a answer to a question is like bashing your head against the wall unless you want a lie. They know they have you by the short hairs because it cost so much to have a home moved. So take this as a warning. DO NOT RENT or BUY from Sun Communities! They promise you the world and give you incentives to move in, but then they hit you with the big bag and you realize your living in the roach motel. You check in but you can't check out!

racism and theft
This company has blantenly took my deposit of 1100.00 stating that, I destroyed there property which is very absurd. The manager at brookside village in Kenwood Michigan has demonstrated an act of racism towards me and my fiancée. This company has also stolen my deposit, stating that I left there property with 1000.00 worth of damage. This Kathy manager should be given the most strictiest repremand for stealing my deposit. Out of a 1100.00 deposit, I only get back 172.62. I want answers and documents.

RipOffs!
Started looking at their properties in September of 2014. We were going to lease with purchase a property and retire in that home. Cave Creek showed us a 3 bedroom Karsten and then a 4 bedroom Karsten. We really liked the 4 bedroom Karsten and told them that was what we would be interested in. We also picked out the lot we wanted. After about 30 days later was told no you can not have that house on the lot, it would be a 4 bedroom Skyline. Well we were not impressed with the skyline as it was cheaply made. We went a head with it and was told that our rent would be 50 dollars more because of the new part of the park. We were told that if we paid a 1299 deposit up front that we would have priority over any other house being put together and that we would have 30 days free rent. We were told a move in date of December 15th. Then we were told that it was not ready and would not be ready till January 1st 2015. We kept driving by and checking and found no one was working on the home. Finally had gotten the keys and was moving in on Saturday the 3rd of January 2015, and found the house with no heat and no water! Finally had the heat turned on that next week but no water yet! Husband had to take off work and go to house and wait for someone to turn on water. Then found out no hot water had to take off work again and wait for plumber to fix hot water heater! We finally got to move in the 10th of January 2015. To this day the outside of the house has missing shingles and siding and the lot has never been cleaned up! Someone took away the large front porch and replaced it with a much smaller one! We were lied to from the start and all through the process. Please be aware of these people, they are scammers and just want your money!

Unfair Rent Charges
I reside in Siesta Bay RV resort in Ft Myers Fl. It is a 55+rv/park model community owned by Sun Communities, Inc.I own our own home and rent the lot. In Oct 2017 we were notified that the annual rent would be $6902 for the10/01/2017 thru 09/30/2018 season, payable in 7 equal payments of $986.
On Oct 1, 2017 sun communities changed to a 12 month payment schedule, starting on your purchase anniversary date.
If your purchase date was not October it left some residents paying significantly more than the $6902 previously quoted rate for the 2017-2018 season, some overpaying more than $2000.
The rate for the 2018 -2019 season, effective 10/01/2018 thru 09/30/2019 for all residents has already been determined $6902. No 30 days notice was given before the changes. Sun Communities mislead the residents and they refuse to be accountable for the confusing disclosures.

beware....i wish i had never moved in to this park..rent goes up every year.yet we get nothing for it.very manager tammy is the worst.she does nothing...makes up new rules when she wants.some people get away with what ever they want to do ,others get in trouble.they run off great employes the jurk that is in charge of the grounds is a total a.. hole...all the people that work in the office are jurks,excpect lisa,,she is the onlyone that treats you good..all sun wants is ur money.all of it...the water is always off due to problems with the very old water lines.. latley we are having issues with people buying in and then puttin the place for rent on air b and b..so new people in the park every daythat dont have to pay like we people that live there do .the park has a no dog rule what a joke..what keeps people there are the people that live there..not sun communites..they suck....if u buy in ur stupid.....SUN COMMUNITIES ONLY CARES ABOUT UR MONEY AND HOW MUTCH THAY CAN GET...BUYER BEWARE..AND TAMMY AND DUFFY NEED TO GO ..TAMMY AND DUFFY ALSO LIVE TOGETHER
