Fee's Fee's and more Fee's
Regardless of how long they seem to hold transactions, you should be balancing your account yourself to avoid overdraft fees. Stop spending money you do not have.

WGAS, you are right on with your statement.
As far as the 'service fee': if it is charged the same time every month, the the funds should be deposited and available for the day it is charged, that way, it doesnt affect the card transactions. Review these fees against your account disclosures to see if they are valid.
If the disclosures state that you will be charged $28 each day you are overdrawn, then they are valid.
Debit/credit transactions usually are 'pending' until the merchant fully processes the transaction (except on the weekend, since banks only post M-F). Like WGAS said, if the money is there, it doesn't matter how the transactions post.
You may want to look at other banks. BOA charges OD fees for each transaction that overdraws an account, like most other bank's. But they only charge their $35 extended over drafted balance on the fifth day only. Compare bank's and credit unions to see what would be the best fit for you. Keep in mind, as frustrating as these fees are, if they are stated in the disclosures, you agreed to the terms when you opened the account.

Savvy customers avoid banks. You should too. Credit unions are the way to go.

Yes, I agree...Contact the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and let them know what they did...they are looking for complaints on the banks about now because of all the changes, and new regulations slapt onto the banks...fight back and don't give up til you win. The banks are doing some very dirty stuff and getting away with it...learn how to fight back, get the word out, and pass it on to others!

So I guess the mentality is shoot first and ask questions later instead of the reverse? The OP should research whether or not it is valid before taking the offensive. If you encourage a person to go on the offensive before they even research the issue, you are assuming that every complaint is valid (srsimpson: your text above) and they aren't all valid. Not every complaint falls into the category that you described.

ENCOURAGE PEOPLE? Free speach incourages people. YOu'd be better off being more incouraging yourself!

Encouraging people to be financially irresponsible is irresponsible in itself.

Good comment srsimpson. It's always great when consumers fight back! Pay no mind to these 'naysayers" who probably work for these Banks. Possibly shills. Also great review.

Tired, old arguement is worn out. Disagreeing with the OP does not mean we work for the banks.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...we have been fighting old arguement, as you say for years...where have you been? Most likey fighting tired old arguement as well...beating this over and over is not getting you anywhere...someone voiced their opinion and your not going to strip them from that by trying to get others to agree with you...and you do sound like you work for some kind of financial company...

You are assuming the complaint is valid. Not every fee is erroneously charged. Some fees are valid and customers are just sour grapes. Or dense. So having them research it first is far more responsible than encouraging mass complaints.
Fight what you KNOW is either an error or a scam. That is the proper encouragement.

You remind me of a parent who has a child committed and has the discipline to stay with the commitment and she is a valuable
asset, a goose that can produce golden eggs...(have you heard or read that before?) well you on the other hand ..you as a parent, focus on your self- anything, everything attitude productions, getting your kicks, nagging who ever comes your way, essscalating your efforts to threatening, or yelling, and in your desire to get the golden egg, you undermine the health and welfare of the goose!...I think Ellen is a smart enough person to know when she is wasting her time on things that don't have
any meaning...because someone does not jump up and answer your every remark that does not relate to the subject in question does not mean your a 'something' in your own eyes...professing themselves wise, they become ...? Have fun and
fill in the blanks...and find something productive to talk about!
