My 18 year old daughter signed with The Rush Thieves! We, her parents, tried to talk her out of joining. She did it anyway. She is a fulltime student and cannot afford to pay the fees on her contract. The sales rep liar told her and her boyfriend that if they couldn't pay, then they could pay $99 to buy out of the contract. Her mother and I said, "Then why don't we assume your contract and keep up the payments and we'll go to the gym?" I went to the local office in Dalton, GA, and the guy there said that shouldn't be a problem and to call the customer service number. When I called, the rep said that contracts are assumable and that she could not get out of it. I told her that the saleman said that they could but out of it for $99. She said that was true only if she was disabled or moved out of area. I told her I was trying to help by continuing to pay the contract. She said that the contract would be paid or it would go to collections. I told her I would close my daughter's account and they wouldn't get another penny. These people are the biggest crooks. I sincerely hope the Rush closes due to their thieving ways!

The Rush ripped me off too! My husband had just left me for another woman and I was six months pregnant, with two other children. I decided to join a gym to make myself feel better. They stamped SUCKER on my forehead when I walked in. The salesman told me he would give me this super fantastic deal for a three year membership if I paid in full $1500 in the next three months. I agreed to this because I didn't want any monthly payments. I saw that when they deduced the three payments of $500 from my checking account, that they were taking an additional $58 a month. At no time did the salesman mention anything about a monthly payment. I felt so taken advantage of. But since I signed the three year contract, I continued to let them deduct the monthly fee from my checking account. And if you add the $1500 and $58 a month for three years, that comes to $100 a monthly for a gym membership! As soon as my 36 months were over I closed my checking account. The following month I was sent a bill from a collection agency for $73. I paid it. And promptly sent the required registered letter to stop any month to month fees, that I did not sign up for. The following month I received a bill for $154. I am so upset, I don't know what to do. They have ruined my good credit score. I wish someone would start a class action lawsuit against them.
