"Free" Offer/No Cancel Option/Collection Company Call
The same thing just happened to me! I took the phone call in the summer and said ok to the free trial, Now months go by without seeing a bill and a collector call. I told the collector that I remember the call and there was nothing stated about me having to cancel but in the event I am wrong please provide me a recording of the conversation or something with my signature. After that she asked my position again and hung up. The next day my accounting department calls me to ask about the collector as they are now on the phone there, I told her to have them contact only me.

"Free" Offer/No Cancel Option/Collection Company Call
I too have been scammed by Progressive Business Publications. They claim I received 14 pieces of mail including their publication and their invoices. They claim I received a confirmation email of what I agreed to. I looked up my received mail and the email was not their. The customer service rep resent me the email while on the phone with her and I never received it during our 15 minute phone call. The first time I've heard of this company is when I received a fax notice from their collection agency. During our conversation she suddenly said, oh, we're about to get disconnected at which time I'll call you back, well, we were disconnected and she hasn't called back!

Slimeball company
I received a call very new to this company almost a year ago wanting to send me some publication. I said no, I manage people that don't need this and it would have to be my boss's people if anyone and he's not in the office today. They said they'd call back and suddenly now almost a year later I have a collection call claiming I agreed to a free trial, received an email confirmation, and then received an invoice in my second delivery which I was supposed to write cancel on and return if I didn't want it. I didn't ask for it in the first place! Why am I going to take my valuable time doing any of that. I never received such invoice and she is telling me that I am on the hook for a credit ding because I ordered this oh but she can settle this $600 debt for a mere $180 today. I went to our accounting department to see if they had ever gotten any invoices or calls. They had not gotten any with my name on them, but they did get one about three months ago with someone else's name on it and that person was scammed as well. Cynthia Thomas from the collection agency should be ashamed of herself for partnering with such a slimeball company. It's OK though, what goes around truly does come around. I'm surprised reading all these reviews and how old they are that this company is still pulling this shit so this is why I'm being vocal. They need to be stopped.

disgusting business practices
I received a very unpleasant phone call from Becky from the collection agency ICR... telling me i owe 299.99 plus collection debt fee's for a magazine I never ordered back in June. I called BS and she was rude and hung up on me. I called her back and she denied hanging up on me. She told me because I gave my date of birth and my email address I committed to buying the subscription. I said I would never give out my DOB over the phone for a magazine. So apparently they are scamming a lot of people. I will be reporting both companies to the BBB. The SElling advanage magazine and ICR... good luck in court!!
