Tower Hill
Steve, I hate to say the following...
I used to live in a 4500 sqft home (original owner 2003), until I noticed cracks, plumbing problems, cracks in driveway, pasture started holding water after it rained, drain field collapsed, electrical bill doubled, cracks extended (walls, foundation, ceilings, windows, window frames), AC duct work detached, water well collapsed, new pool cracked in half, among other multiple problems! I didn't know what was happening to my home. All I knew is that I was going broke repairing the problems. So I filed a claim with Tower Hill of (unknown problems), sinkholes are not common where I live. "They" filed a sinkhole claim...AND CONFIRMED SINHOLES!!!!
I felt like i was going crazy! They relocated our family of five to a rental (in april 2010) for 5 months (which they paid the rent). I was in charge for the maintanence of the rental home along with the maintanence & mortgage of the sink home. (but they were supposed to reimburse us for ALL EXTRA EXPENSES!). They paid one month of extra expenses (May 2010) $4,000 extra per month! $16,000 in the hole, without reimbursement- with a $110,000 loss of use policy! I was drowning, had to move out of the rental. We had no choice to move back to the sinkhole property. NOW... We're a family of five, living in a camper! We have a collapsed well & contaminated water, can't use it even for a shower! A year and a half has passed since the claim (tower hill ignores my loss of use receipts) now a total of $50,000...plus my $100,000 in attorney & engineering fees. I'm in the hole over $150,000 and have lost everything but my sinking home. The property appraiser dropped our value from $500,000 to $40,000 upon inspection. We have 3 special needs kids, one daughter with Cerebral Palsey. We even had to withdraw her from her $$$ school and have resulted to homeschool since we have no way to pay her tuition!
We're drowning, and I refuse to break the last life Insurance policy we have left! I am now in search of my 3rd attorney to close this. Bad faith? I think so. I even had to remove our horses from the 2 acre pasture because of ground cover collapse, which I fell into going out to feed them.
What I'm trying to say is, find yourself an "awesome" attorney, even at 33%. Cause if you don't, you'll loosing everything fighting Tower Hill. We are 99% there, of loosing everything we had-even our sanity! BTW- we had sinkhole insurance @ $1,000 deductible-doesn't mean a thing to them! We have been insured by tower hill for 7 years, always paid on time. They have neglected and refused to keep our family safe. I pray your family NEVER endures such distress! We are at such loss, especially living any kind of life!
Damn it!!!! Tower Hill won't help you! Even when you have lost everything! We are now selling all of our belongings, to keep up with their negligent pace!
