Poor quality gas fireplace
I have been fighting with Travis Industries for a couple of years. I'm trying to get them to take some accountability and stand behind one of their products: the Avalon "Tree of Life" gas stove. Our stove has emitted noxious-smelling fumes since it was new, and we have not been able to tolerate using it for more than a few minutes at a time. I have had not luck with the store that sold me the stove. I paid a repairman to look at it, and he diagnosed "bad paint". The crew that built our house burned the stove to cure the paint before we moved in; and, following the Travis service manager's direction, we have burned it another 8 consecutive hours (with doors and windows open to air out the stink). Nothing has helped. I have written numerous letters and had phone conversations with the service manager...all to no avail. The stove is very pretty but defective and useless. I need a replacement or a refund. But nobody will help me. Carolyn Dowdy

I bought a Name ONLY
Always liked my Lopi wood stove in the past. Installed the Deerfield Pellet stove in Late November 2018 and five weeks of use and circulation fans began to vibrate & rattle thru enclosure, now 4 plus months of operation and every mechanized component screams with noises -grinding, loud thunks, rattling scraping/ sounds of motors binding under stress etc. I can no longer run it thru the night as it is too noisy. Maintenance in the manual is 'Very Deceiving' weekly duties are manageable, monthly , you may as well do along with weekly and the BIGGIE--annual maintenance Laughable- every six weeks is annual in reality and includes some dismantaling of the machine. the back panel must be pried off as it will not release once piping is installed -Stupid engineering, then you need to remove cover on exhaust fan to clean, in the manual it states ,and I quote "If gasket becomes damaged, replace". Well these dummies used RTV silicone for a gasket and guess what RTV is not intended to be reused, especially when it tears upon removal which is what it does. Simply put this machine was engineerd lacking owner access for servicing as once installed 'ACCORDING TO THIER PARAMETERS' and apparently with low grade components as all sound as if. They can buy this back or I dedicate my life to writing and warning others to buy a better brand. Just under five G's and I feel like I've taken it from behind. TRAVIS is BAD!
