Discrimination and inequality
VERY POOR SERVICE - the gym failed to properly bill us all year, and then dumped a $600 back bill on us when we attempted to cancel... Unclean gym, 1/2" of dust on all surfaces (check out the hanging lights), and we saw a male s3x toy (fleshlight) in the lost and found for 2 weeks - no joke, we took a video of it.. Gross!! Wonder what happens in the change rooms?

Discrimination and inequality
I am very sorry that you are unhappy with your service at VI Fitness. In previous conversations you had told me how you enjoyed the facility and used it regulary. There was no mention of any problems or concerns with the club until it came time to bring your account up to date.
The dusting of the club is done on a regular scheduled basis. We have heard your concern and have shortened the time frame between cleanings.
We cannot locate the item you describe in the lost and found.
I would be more than happy to work with you to resolve this. Please give me a call at 250-756-2985 and we can discuss a resolution that is fair to everyone.

We called Christina, and she did not resolve anything. She read off a teleprompter by the sound of it. The resolution they found fair was to... post a message on this forum making it look like they are offering a mea culpa, when in fact they are not offering any resolution via phone.
You can locate the item in question on Youtube now.
We had mentioned the cleaning a few times in the first 2-3 months we were there, then we gave up. It sucks having to drive home sweaty because your afraid of what you might sit in in the change rooms. The gym equipment itself seemed ok to me, not too dirty, but that was never my complaint!
The reason our account "wasn't up to date" is that they had failed to charge it properly... I hope you aren't planning on charging me interest on the money you had failed to bill!
Advice: don't even try to talk to them just call your credit card company.

Christina (the regional manager) called us back and we have reached a tentative agreement regarding our billing issue. In regards to the other issues, I will say that once reported to gym staff, most were resolved in a timely manner.
Thanks for your attention to this Christina, and sorry for the rough week.
+1 for teh internets ;p

payment
My wife was (is I guess) a member there for years. After getting pregnant, she gave notice. For months payments kept coming out despite monthly requests for cancellation. As the account was then abandoned, they kept trying to pull out money and subsequently causing bank bounce fees on top of what VI said was owed. Every time we went in, it was a young powerless girl saying sorry, we have no record, or its taken care of now - never mind the fees already incurred.
Bottom-line; terrible service by inept people. I think it's still outstanding.

Cancelling Contract
Well, I went in there to sign up. I wasn't into a contract. I told her I was kind of flaky and didn't want to get into something I couldn't finish. She ASSURED me I could cancel for 99 dollars. Well I went into cancel today, and they tried to charge me the remainder of the 18 months at 40 dollars a month. I was like umm what? Your 'so called' trained Staff Member Bre is her name guaranteed me that I could cancel for 99 dollars. The manager (Who was super rude about it) was like umm no pffft you can only do that if you're moving or too sick to come in. I was like so then I guess you teach your staff to lie about it then to get contracts signed. I guess you work under commissions. She said it was in my contract and I signed it, I was like UMMM YOUR STAFF MEMBER TOLD ME THROUGH CONVERSATION THAT I COULD CANCEL NO QUESTIONS ASKED FOR 99 DOLLARS.....Thanks for ripping me off, and teaching your staff to be a bunch of fucking liars. I appreciate the misinformation.
