Survey I Didn't Enter
Woman called today, Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:24 a.m. from number 510-403-1936 from Freemont, California said I had entered a survey online for a Wal-Mart Gift Cart or Ipad. I said no I hadn't entered a survey then she proceeded to tell me again and asked me if I could get my computer. I said just a minute and I finally got my laptop to come on, she said she was going to walk me through to the secure website. I asked what the website was and she told me "wakanetwork.com" and you don't have to enter www. I knew right then it was a scam to remote into my computer so I asked her "Are you going to remote into my computer?" She hesitated for a moment and said uh yes! I told her immediately, "I'm not interested" and hung up the phone! I have experienced this same thing with another company and it is a way for them to remote into your computer and obtain all your personal information! Never do this, they can also corrupt you computer as they did mine and then I started having charges to my bank card which took money from my checking account. Luckily I caught them in time and the charges to my account were reversed. But I did have to cancel my bank card and have another one issued! Heads up to all, be aware of this scam and read the multiple complaints about this company!
