Why Not Lease It opened account with someone who used my stolen Identity to purchase furniture in A different state than where I live and after I sent in Affidavits and police report to their fraud department the collections department told me that I was still responsible for account because it was in my name even though I wasn't the one who opened it and instead of them closing the account and charging it off they sold it to another company and the new company sent it to A collection agency and I had to send them A copy of the Affidavits and police report to the collections agency so they can close the account and send it to their fraud department I don't think Why Not Lease It collections department ever checked with their fraud department I think they thought I was lying so I wouldn't have to pay the account off but I never opened account in the first place

False, deceptive practices

Don't fall into this trap. How it was explained to me was that it was like a layaway, but you could take it home, and you would pay a 60 fee. I had to pay almost 200 over what the product was worth. I called customer service and she told me one price, and then when she ran my card, she quoted another price. BE WARNED. Sears, you really shouldn't use this company.
