Why not lease it is a rip off

I leased some things and completely forgot. I keep all my money in my savings so each time they charged my card they charged me processing fee. I asked to pay off my merchandise early, but they said I missed my pay off date and I’m going to have to finish the 5 month payments and make a final payment of half the merchandise. No that’s not normal and I refuse to allow them to get over on me. I asked to speak to a manager and the gurl said the manager said the same thing. They’re rip offs people should be allowed to pay their merchandise off when they want to not after they get double of what they charge them.
