Securus is taking peoples money
Last night 1 min into a call frim my husband housed at suwannee c.i annex, the call disconnects FOR NO REASON (twice:( then he calls today, it disconnects 3 times and says no third party calling for no damn reason. Im mad as hel. They make it so u cant really get in touch with a representative. Plus they dont refund your money. Definitely contacting the better business bureau and having all the ladies in our prison wives groupreport them for all the $ we each gave just lost.. we r single women, suporting families and for our calls to keep dropping, its bullshit!

visit set up
I've been trying to set up a visit with my only child but every time I do the page always comes up with OOPS SOMETHINGS HAPPEND. Then i get an email stating that i successfully canceled my visit appointment. I was trying to cancel anything but set up a visit with my son. I've sent emails to this ridiculous company and nothing has been done. Stupid company!

Stealing money
I used a friends debt card for 20 dollars.. I know thats t like 5 phone calls... I got like 15 phone calls. It was deducting money off the card without permission... I deleted my account... I refuse tobuse another debt card with this company ever again...

Unprofessional and unhelpful
Yesterday I scheduled a video visit with my loved one, paying only $5 which seemed to be a good deal considering I'm located in California and they're in Florida, so the time difference is a huge factor. I made sure to set my alarm and login 20 mins prior. Once the "start" option was available, I then attempted to start my video visit. I sat and waited for about 5 mins before I realized that there as something wrong, so I called customer service so that I would maybe, be able to still see my family with a few mins remaining. Unfortunately, the tech rep. did not know what was going on so he thought just feeding me some bull and rushing me off the phone would do justice. He told me that I missed my visit, when he saw I was logged in and not receiving video while on the phone with him. So how could I have missed it? The reason was because I logged out and then logged back in when HE was instructing me on a troubleshoot. Not helping me resolved the issue he than hung up, I was furious to not get answers, I called again hoping to get better help but instead i got a young lady named Ashely in tech support with horrible customer service skills, I hung up with her because she refused to transfer me to someone that could help. I then called again and stayed on hold with two different people for a total of three hours. Through all of that I was not able to have my video visit today and now i have to print, fill out, scan or fax back in a refund form. Horrible morning. Horrible company!!!

Horrible company and customer service

Needs to be more private
You should not be able to look up another account other than your own, now I have a fake baby momma playing on my phone each time I. Receive a call from my loved one because the crazy bitch is watching my account can u say stalker. Need to be more private even with the passcode if there is a account created online a person can view your calls and duration

I think we should all get together and file a law suit against this company, this is illegal, if we did this we would go to jail for it, so what makes them any different than anyone else, and why should the families have to pay for something that they have not done, I'm am sick and tired of being treated like trash by a company that is trash!
If they where so good, then they would stand by there word, like when they say ( if you need to talk to a customer service representative ), then there really would be one, not some computer voice for a payment, and every number they give you for a customer service representative is the same-computer voice for money, they are fake!

thieves, cold hearted thieves!
Every time I go to pay my bill it is a lot higher than it should be, for example- it is suppose to be a dollar per call, I talked to him 4 times and they charged me 47.11 plus 6.98 handling fees and tried to say I owed 42.48 for a balance brought forward! There is know balance brought forward, I have always played my bill, and when I try to call them and talk to them to give them my confirmation number so they can see that I have paid, I can't talk to know one, IT IS LIKE THIS EVERY MONTH !
I AM SICK AND TIRED OF IT !
I think we all need to get together and start a lawsuit against this company, this is illegal, this is stealing from people that have done nothing wrong, who just want to talk to people they love!
I am going to try and see about getting a lawsuit going, I am disabled, I have rights to, I will not stand for this any longer, I am tired of them thinking they can do what they want, when that want, to who they want, because they are in the prison system, those prisoners have rights to, wether they have done right or wrong things in there life, they are human, people make mistakes, how can you learn from your mistake's if your tretreated like crap! I bet if it was there family member in there, there rates would not be so high and they would not have dropped calls, or anything else!

charges
I could not believe the cost of making a phone call. It is terrible. We should all band together start our own. Almost could be 15. for a 15 minute call. We are being punished for what our kids done. They have problems and being in Jail is not going to make them
better in the first place. Then being charge these cost for a 15 minute call. UNREAL I would say about 60% are on drugs. Probably
more if the truth was known. Anyway we love our family that is in there and put up with the high cost. I bet you gave some of us
the money to run the same business and we would save you money. CEO's would not be getting rich. Ran by the people and for the people. I bet we could even get volunteers. Just saying my opinion. AR

updating credit info
I have a pre-paid phone acct. for my nephew. When I got a new chip card, the expiration date & security # changed. I tried to update my CC card info, but it tells me the payment was denied & I should call my bank. I did & was told, securus was still using the old data. I called, e-mailed, did a live chat & got the same run-around. My card's expired. No kidding. Your site won't let me update my saved card info, even though they tell me they don't save information for credit cards. My acct. says UPDATE CREDIT CARD & SAVE CREDIT CARD. These people are morons and don't know their butts from a hole in the ground. I tell them it's their system and they get snappy. I went through the correctional facility site and placed money (with the same card) with no problems. I have a balance on the acct. but since I can't get these idiots to update my card, that balance will be lost. I'm through with them. BEWARE OF SECURUS!

Can I have my money back please?
I have used this service going on two years now I always figure with rates I will get so many calls so I always figure out to make sure I get to talk to him on special dates but even after all this I didn't get to talk either this year or. R last years Christmas my birthday I never get all of my calls they are hard to hear and we have been cut off and charged for all 30 min I alway try to make sure we will have a call on those special dates but it never works out because securustech is ripping me off I wish you would just let me talk to him for free or give me a refund I'm am all by myself. A Special Place in Hell.......
There is a special place in hell for people like those that own/run Securus. Karma is a mean bitch. Ask all those inmates whose families are put in the position of being robbed by this band of thieves....all in the name of love. Something the owners of Securus know nothing about --unless you bring dollar bills into the equation. They do LOVE that. Their rates are nothing if not usurous, which is illegal in the banking industry and SHOULD be in this instance. I just paid for a $5.20 20-minute phone call. That doesn't sound tooooo horrible in the greater scheme of things. Right? Then they add a $2.00 bill processing fee. Really? You charge me to advise me how much I owe you for a service? Like having to give the person at the drive-thru extra money to tell you the total for your order. Thievery, but it gets better! When I called to pay the $7.76 bill (taxes included) they charge another $3.00 to pay the bill. Wow. From $5.20 to $10.76. If that isn't a ripoff, I don't know what is. Deplorable excuses for human beings preying on the already disadvantaged whose only crime is loving an individual who is incarcerated. Despicable. Truly. But it is also more than likely true that these low-lifes gather once a week over cocktails (probably in a topless bar), read these complaints, and have a good laugh....then go to church on Sunday. Wouldn't be at all surprised if these racketeers are ex or current law enforcement.
There is power in numbers. Put your anger, disgust, and resentment at the abusive treatment and downright theft by this so-called corporation to good use and contact your state's attorney general, the Texas state attorney general, and the Federal Communications Commission. Call your congessmen/women and your senators. Document who you contact, when and how often. BBB takes complaints but useless in this case. Complain, complain, and then complain more. Raise hell, because the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If you can hold for hours to contact those jackasses at Securus, you can take the time to contact the authorities who might put a stop to Securus' crimes.

Cut off calls
My 2 phone call were disconnected on 4142017 at 9:11pm and 9:14pm I have been a valuable customer for over almost 3yrs in August and since the calls were not my fault nor the inmate or inmates facility I would only think it b suitable to refund the 2call back top my account which my name is Danielle McReynolds pin number 2764941706 and pin is1219 ty for your time and patience

My brothers present, and I hope temporary Facility: Woodbourne Correctional Facility just changed over to this new phone system from Vconnect/Offender Phone Service. When a prepaid call is received by him, a long winded introduction proceeds before the inmate is allowed to speak. Is this billable time. it seems to take at least a minute each call before you are even connected. I am told (securus) that it will eventually allow tablets for him to reach out to family at any time for a monthy fee, which is added to the regular phone service. I am already having serious reservations, especially after reading the previous reviews. I also noticed that there is not a securus provider in the New York area except this one. who makes these decisions without warning? I am sure a lot of families are left in limbo and unable to speak to their loved ones that are incarcerated. What a way to create further stress levels.

Not Securus $ its Local Jail Surcharges
Complain about cost of Securus to local government. That is where the thief is at. Securus only costs $1 for 8 minutes from Travis County jail inmates calling out. Evidence that Securus is telling the truth.
The problems is that by law each jail cuts their own Securus contact and sets own fees. The Securus must bill what your jail says. The Securus fee portion is actually relatively reasonable Whoever is in charge locally can legally pocket millions because Securus contract money is NOT public money. State government has not control or even have right to monitor without specific new laws. Many jails fund the jail or supplement. local LEO department in unregulated ways. You might be surprised to find that the local sheriff or warden LEGALLY can put millions in his own personal pocket because local government put him in charge of managing Securus contract and that is the management fees he set.
The dropped calls are because Securus is a Homeland Security and NSA service contractor. Looking for Cartel and terrorist info under Patriot Act is the overall excuse and actually a bit truthful. But mining everything LEO related is the game though local stuff is obviously lower priority. This means every call is monitored by computer but flagged calls get reviewed by real humans. Both computers and humans can be overburdened by this intense surveillance and switching of digital voice data -- then calls get dropped. Plus apparently some local jails add their own ham handed monitoring on top of Securus regular federal surveillance.
There is not even any such thing as lawyer-client privilege. Defense lawyers of several counties and states have sued and lost in federal court. One example is Travis County Defense lawyers who meekly withdrew objections about routine forwarding of their "privileged" defense info to the DA after being told about all the implications for them personally under the Patriot Act if they did not stop rocking the boat.
Billing accuracy and customers service are not a priority. This is owned by Securus and its primary customers at Homeland and NSA. Its already been reviewed and approved in federal courts and FCC as irrelevant in the face of what NSA and Homeland describes as huge threat potential. In fact your anger is an interrogation technique to prompt you to say unwise things.
Any case write federal and state legislatures to write new laws managing Securus funds at state and federal levels if you want cost controls.

Local Jail controls $$$ not Securus
Securus does NOT set prices. Local jail management does. For instance inmates can call outbound for $1 for 8 minutes from Travis County Jail in Texas. Look no further than local government for the thief.
Most states let individual jaisl negotiate contracts with Securus. Whoever manages that contract locally can demand whatever money they want. If sheriff or DA are in charge they often are working system to deny prisoner easy communications. Tighter more punishing jail. After Securus collects its relatively small fees, they can also do whatever they want with that money because its not public tax money. At one Texas jail millions LEGALLY go right into Sheriff personal bank account (ethical probably not). More common schemes pay for most of Jail itself or buy local LEO stuff the public and local superiors would not purchase for them (better body armor to pool table in private lounge). But legally jail phone fees are blank unmonitored slush fund of nonpublic moneys.
Securus does not have control of call quality and drops because the primary customer is actually Homeland Security and NSA. All calls are computer recorded and monitored. Flagged calls get human attentions. When all that complex digital stuff and human staff get overburdened calls get dropped.
Its also god to know that there is no such thing as lawyer client privilege under the enabling Patriot Act and as confirmed by several state and local defense lawyer law suits. Again you can look up Travis County Defense Lawyer Association lawsuit which was meekly dropped when it was explained what could happen to them personally if they continued to rock the boat. They suddenly saw the light about their client calls being routinely sent to the DA even when no new crimes were in progress.
Accurate billing is also not a priority to the real customers (Homeland/NSA). Your anger over billing is also useful as an interrogation tool to provoke people to saying unwise things possibly leaking information. So billing issues are also not something over which Securus has complete control.
To change this write to state and federal legislators about pulling Securus contracts and money under state and federal monitoring. Catch the real thieves.

Local jails have power to cut off any call. Often anyone on local jail staff. Irritate some guards and overburdened Homeland and NSA monitoring system does not even come into play.

Inconsitent services
This Securus is very frustrating ...I opened an account to be able to send money to an inmate and also video visit but there are many incidents where it wont let me log in and all itsays is error I tried to even contact their resolution number and it was the sane it says error code etc. I want to be able to view my account and se4 how much bakance of the money I had placed thru the account .I expected at leadt to be able to see the account after high fees Securus charges on top of putting money in the account and the samethings in video visit. I am thinking this Securus is fishy .... Its not consitent with their service and they charge alot of $$$ on everything ....
